Ari Confesor joined the Badgers’ staff in March 2026 as wide receivers coach. Owning experience as a wide receivers coach at multiple collegiate stops, Confesor arrived in Madison after one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2025). Confesor joined the Jaguars’ staff as a coaching fellow in early 2025 and stayed with the organization through its 2025 AFC South title campaign and playoff run. The stint in the NFL was Confesor’s second of his career after working with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. No stranger to Power 4 college football, Confesor returns to a role as a wide receivers coach at the collegiate level. He led the Wake Forest wide receivers group from 2023-24, helping guide the program's all-time leader in receiving yards, WR Taylor Morin, to Honorable Mention All-ACC honors in 2024. Prior to his time at Wake Forest, Confesor coached the Air Force wideouts from 2019-22. He helped the Falcons to a 34-11 overall record and the program won three bowl games, defeating Power-5 programs in postseason matchup. Confesor helped Brandon Lewis, who signed with the Tennessee Titans on a free agent deal prior to the 2022 season, earn Honorable Mention All-MWC honors in a standout 2021 campaign. Lewis finished the season with team highs of 20 catches for 600 yards while setting a school record with a 30.0 yards per catch average. Blake Rolan joined the Badgers' staff as the Assistant Wide Recievers Coach in January 2025. He arrived in Madison with more than 15 years of collegiate coaching experience. Prior to his time at Wisconsin, Rolan served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Southern Illinois (2019-24). In his first season (2019), Rolan helped design a Saluki offense that produced one of the most dominant rushing attacks in the nation. Featuring a pair of 1,000-yard rushers, SIU ranked 12th in the country in rushing yards per game (233.4) and 32nd in total offense (418.6). In 2021, SIU ranked 25th nationally in total offense (415.3) and 25th in passing offense (255.0). Rolan was the offensive coordinator at Division II Dixie State in 2018. In his only season at Dixie State, Rolan's offense averaged 458.5 total yards and 31 points per game. Prior to Dixie State, Rolan worked the 2017 season as an offensive analyst on Mark Stoops' staff at Kentucky, where he helped lead the Wildcats to a 7-6 record and a bid to the Music City Bowl. Before his stint at UK, Rolan served as wide receivers coach under Tommy Tuberville at Cincinnati from 2013-16 and helped guide the Bearcats to three bowl appearances in four seasons. A Georgia native, Rolan was a walk-on tight end at Middle Tennessee State from 2000 to 2003 and graduated from Louisville in 2005. Bob Ligashesky was named the Badgers’ special teams coordinator in March 2026. Ligashesky comes to Wisconsin with nearly 40 years of coaching experience, most recently serving as special teams coordinator at Minnesota. Ligasheksy spent 12 years of his career in the NFL, mostly coaching special teams. He has led special team units for the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers (2008 Super Bowl champion) and the St. Louis Rams. He has also coached special teams with the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars and coached tight ends with the Denver Broncos. The veteran coach also has extensive experience at the college level. In addition to Minnesota, he has coached at Syracuse, Bowling Green, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Kent State, Arizona State (graduate assistant) and Wake Forest (graduate assistant). Ligashesky has mentored some of the best special team players in the game, as he has worked with NFL kickers Jeff Reed (Steelers), Connor Barth (Buccaneers) and Sebastian Janikowski (Raiders) and long snapper Jon Weeks (Texans) and punter Shane Lechler (Texans). In college, he coached standouts in Illinois punter Blake Hayes and Illini kicker Chase McLaughlin, as well as Bowling Green kicker Nate Needham. At Minnesota, his most recent stop, Ligashesky’s kickoff unit posted a 77.1% touchback clip, the second best in the Big Ten trailing only Wisconsin (81.6%). Odom joined the Badgers’ staff as assistant wide receivers coach in early 2026. Odom joined the UW staff after gaining coaching experience at Georgia and Baylor. A Bedford, Ohio native, Odom played wide receiver at Ohio University from 2016-21.

Rabach, a former Badger and NFL lineman, was elevated to the assistant offensive line coach prior to the 2024 season. Rabach originally joined the program in 2022 as a personnel assistant. Under the guidance of Rabach and offensive line coach AJ Blazek, Badgers' offensive tackle Jack Nelson was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Rabach was elevated as the director of scouting in 2023, and went on to play an integral role in the Badgers' recruiting efforts. Rabach helped the Badgers secure the nation's No. 23 recruiting class in 2024 according to 247Sports. Rabach played offensive line from 1996 to 2000 in Madison and 10 seasons in the NFL between stints with the Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Redskins. Rabach was a third round selection in the 2001 NFL draft. After his playing career, Rabach spent time as a player representative with Washington before working in the Green Bay Packers personnel department in 2015.

Worley joined the Badgers' staff in January 2023 as the director of player development and engagement. Worley spent time with the Seahawks, Eagles and Bengals in the NFL. He earned a late-season call up during his rookie season with the Bengals in 2018, appearing in two games for the Bengals while recording two tackles. During his collegiate playing career at Ohio State, Worley was a two-year starter for the Buckeyes, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention honors as a senior. He played in 14 games as a freshman on Ohio State's 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship team. Worley was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Glenville High School.

Folino joined the Badgers as the associate director of sports performance in January 2023. Folino arrived in Madison with Brady Collins from the University of Cincinnati. Folino worked alongside Collins with the Bearcats, helping manage the team's strength and conditioning program. Folino directly managed the progression of all athletes and managed interns within the department. With Folino on staff, the Bearcats won AAC championships in 2020 and 2021, advancing to the College Football Playoff after an undefeated season in 2021. Prior to his time at Cincinnati, Folino worked as a strength and conditioning intern at Northwestern in 2017. Folino spent 2015-2017 as a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department at Michigan State. He played collegiately at Michigan State, earning three varsity letters as a linebacker. Folino played in 11 games during his career, racking up four tackles. He played in three bowl games, including the 2014 Rose Bowl, during his career as a Spartan. Folino graduated from Michigan State with a bachelor's degree in 2014 and earned his masters in Kinesiology as a Spartan in 2016.

E.J. Whitlow joined the Badgers’ staff as defensive line coach in February 2024. Whitlow arrived in Madison after two seasons at Air Force and a total of 14 seasons in college football coaching. In 2025, Whitlow helped shape Ben Barten into an impact player up front. Barten led all defensive linemen with 24 tackles and was a stout run stopper. Wisconsin ranked 15th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in rushing defense. In Whitlow's first year at Wisconsin, he helped transfer Elijah Hills flourish. Hills led the Badgers with 3.0 sacks and 5.5 TFLs. In 2023 at Air Force as the Falcons’ defensive line coach, Whitlow helped manage a defense that ranked No. 7 nationally in rushing defense (90.9) and No. 20 in passing defense (186.8). The Air Force defense totaled 30 sacks for just the second time since 2017. By the end of Whitlow’s tenure, the Falcons’ defense had allowed 21 points or fewer in 15 of the last 20 games. In 2022, his first season leading the defensive line at Air Force, Whitlow helped the Falcons become the No. 1 defense in the country (254.5 yards per game). Whitlow’s defensive line helped hold opponents to 95.3 rushing yards per game, the sixth-fewest in college football. Prior to his two-year stint at Air Force, Whitlow spent four years at Miami University (Ohio) from 2018-21. Eric Mateos joined the Badgers’ coaching staff in December 2025 as offensive line coach. Mateos arrived in Madison after two seasons leading the offensive line unit at Arkansas and has made a variety of stops across the college football landscape, including stints directing units on staff with current Badger offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes. Most recently, the duo of Mateos and Grimes spent three seasons (2021-23) together at Baylor with Grimes directing the offense and Mateos leading the offensive line. In 2021, Baylor’s line paved the way for the best rushing attack in the Big 12 and 10th-best in the FBS at 219.3 yards per game en route to semifinalist status for the Joe Moore Award, given annually to the nation’s best offensive line. The following season Baylor totaled 34 rushing touchdowns, averaging 182.4 rushing yards and 231.5 passing yards per game. Over two seasons at Arkansas (2024 and 2025), Mateos helped rebuild a Razorbacks offensive line that finished the 2025 season as the nation’s No. 2 rated line according to Pro Football Network. Arkansas possessed a top-20 offense nationally, averaging 454.8 yards per game, including 191.9 per game on the ground. The Razorbacks ranked top-10 nationally in yards per carry. Jack Cooper was named the Badgers' safeties coach in January 2024 after two seasons on Wisconsin's defensive staff. He joined Wisconsin in the spring of 2023 as the senior defensive analyst and was elevated to the Badgers' assistant defensive backs coach prior to the 2024 season. During his time at Wisconsin, Cooper has worked closely with the Badger secondary and safeties unit. He played an important role in helping safety Hunter Wohler, who flourished during 2023 and 2024, leading the Badgers in tackles in both seasons. Prior to his time at Wisconsin, Cooper served as the Defensive Coordinator at Rhode Island. In 2022, Cooper's defense held top-25 national rankings in sacks (15th), Def. TD’s (10th) and passing TD’s allowed (22nd). In the secondary, which was the position that he coached, Cooper led Jordan Jones to CAA Football 1st Team All-Conference Honors. Jordan Jones and Antonio Carter both ranked in the nation's top-50 in passes defended as both starting corners. Linebackers Jake Fire and Evan Stewart also earned All-Conference honors under Cooper. In 2021, Cooper led a resurgent defensive effort for Rhode Island. Joe Ludwig joined the Badgers as the Assistant Tight Ends Coach in January 2025 after spending time at Baylor as a quality control coach. Before beginning his coaching career, Ludwig played collegiate football at Iowa and Utah. Ludwig played in eight games during his time at Iowa from 2017-19 before playing in 14 games at fullback and tight end across two seasons at Utah (2020-21). Ludwig attended Middleton High School and is the son of Andy Ludwig, who was the Badgers’ Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach from 2013-14.

John Richter enters his fourth season as Director of Football Operations in 2026 after previously serving one season as a graduate assistant and four years as a student assistant with the program. In his role, Richter works closely with Head Coach Luke Fickell and Chief of Staff Greg Gillum on the daily operations of the program. His responsibilities include assisting with budget management, coordinating team travel, and serving as a liaison between the coaching staff and various athletic department units. In 2022, Richter worked closely with defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jim Leonhard on scouting, game planning, and practice script development. He also assisted with coaching the safeties, coordinated the scout team during practice periods, and worked from the press box on game days helping manage the Badger defense. As a student assistant, Richter supported the defensive staff with opponent breakdowns, assisted with special teams coordination, and collaborated with graduate assistants and staff to organize scout team periods during practice. Richter's coaching career began at Brookfield Central High School, where he transitioned from player to offensive assistant coach during his junior year, working with the quarterbacks. He helped implement a no-huddle offense during his senior year as the team advanced to the WIAA Division 2 State Championship game. Following his graduation, the school created an award in his honor. Guiton was named the Badger's Quarterbacks Coach in January 2025 after coaching the Badger wide receivers during the 2024 season. He joined Badgers’ staff as wide receivers coach in Jan. 2024 after three seasons at the University of Arkansas. In his first season leading the QBs in 2025, Guiton managed a room that battled through injuries and had four different quarterbacks start games. the Badgers were the only Big Ten team to have 4 QBs attempt 10+ passes in 2025. True freshman Carter Smith started the final 3 games of the season, guiding UW to wins over Washington and Illinois. Under Guiton’s tutelage in 2024, five different Wisconsin wideouts caught multiple touchdowns for the first time in program history. Guiton also helped lead the UW QB room during the final stretch of the season. Guiton helped junior receiver Vinny Anthony II to a breakout season in 2024 that included a team-high 672 yards and four touchdowns on 39 catches. Anthony grabbed six passes of 40+ yards, the second-most in the Big Ten. Before joining the Badgers’ staff, Guiton led the Arkansas wide receivers unit from 2021-23. In 2023, Guiton led the Razorback’s wideout corps and assumed offensive coordinator duties after OC Dan Enos was fired eight games into the regular season. Matt Mitchell enters his fourth season as outside linebackers coach in 2026. Mitchell will also serve as the Badgers' associate head coach for the first time in 2026. Mitchell joined the Badgers' staff on Jan. 23, 2023 after 13 years as the head coach at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich. Mitchell's unit was a strength of the Badger defense in 2025, led by a group of experienced pass rushers. Darryl Peterson (6.5) and Mason Reiger (5.0) both finished with more than five sacks, becoming the first Badger tandem to do so since 2021. Peterson led the Badgers with 11.5 TFLs, the most for a Wisconsin OLB since Nick Herbig posted 15.5 in 2022. He was named the Big Ten defensive player of the week for his three-sack effort in a Senior Night win over Illinois. In 2024, Mitchell led a unit that included a breakout season by OLB Aaron Witt. Witt, who was hampered by injuries early in his career, posted 4.5 TFLs and 28 total tackles. OLBs John Pius (2.5) and Sebastian Cheeks (2.0) both recorded multiple sacks during the 12-game season. On special teams, Nathanial Vakos converted 12-of-19 attempts and all 31 of his extra point tries. Punter Atticus Bertrams improved his punting average to 45.3 from 41.3 as a freshman in 2023. Bertrams ranked second in the Big Ten in punting average. In his first season as a Badger, Mitchell helped OLB C.J. Goetz tally 11.0 TFLs to rank sixth in the Big Ten. Michael Cibene joined the Badgers as Assistant Special Teams Coordinator in February 2025. Cibene joined the Badgers after serving as the Edge Coach at Florida Atlantic during the 2024 season. Cibene joined the FAU staff in 2023 as a defensive analyst and was named Edge Coach prior to the 2024 season. Before his time in Boca Raton, Fla., Cibene worked with the defensive line as a graduate assistant at Boston College during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He joined the Boston College staff after two seasons working as a defensive assistant at Ohio State (2019 and 2020). Cibene’s first coaching position was under Badgers’ Outside Linebackers Coach Matt Mitchell at Grand Valley State. Cibene was a graduate assistant on Mitchell’s staff in 2017 and 2018. Cibene worked directly with GVSU’s linebackers and defensive backs. During his playing career, Cibene was a safety at Ohio State from 2013-16 and was part of the 2014 Big Ten and CFP championship team. He was a four-time Scholar Athlete Award winner and was named a 2016 Varsity O Letterman. Cibene graduated from Ohio State in 2017 and earned a pair of master’s degrees from Grand Valley State (2019) and Boston College (2022). Cibene and his wife, Olivia, are expecting twin girls, Lucia and Sofia.

Mike Tressel enters his fourth year commanding the Badgers' defense in 2026. Tressel's unit ranked 15th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in rushing defense, allowing only 105.3 yards per game. The Badgers totaled 2.67 sacks per game, the 20th-highest clip in the nation and third-highest in the Big Ten. Wisconsin ranked 24th nationally in total defense allowing 323.5 yards per game, the highest UW has ranked in a season since 2022 (303.5 - 11th). Tressel fostered the success of true freshman linebackers Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano late in the 2025 season. Posa and Catalano combined for 93 tackles after their insertion into the starting lineup (Oct. 25), the most for any FBS freshman defensive tandem. Posa was named an FWAA Freshman All-American. In 2024, Tressel's Badger defense ranked 14th nationally in passing defense (177.7). That was the lowest clip for a Tressel defense since Cincinnati allowed only 169.2 yards per game in 2021, a season that saw Cincinnati post a perfect regular season record and become the first Group of 5 program to reach the CFP Semifinals. Tressel worked closely with the Badger inside linebackers in 2024, mentoring LB Christian Alliegro to 66 total tackles, the second most of any Badger. Alliegro tallied 45 tackles in November, the second-most among Big Ten linebackers. In 2023 under Tressel, the Wisconsin defense assembled a handful of strong individual performances. Felix joined the Badgers in early 2023 as the Director of Football Student Services after two-plus years at Baylor University. In her role, Felix is responsible for planning and managing the transition of players into and out of the program, evaluating prospective recruits' academics, developing programs for the holistic development of players, serving as a liaison with Badger Built units, supporting team travel logistics, and collaborating with Director of Operations John Richter on football operations. Before her current position, Monique held the role of Associate Director of Football Operations at Baylor University, where she contributed to improving player accountability and academic achievement through data analysis and strategic collaboration with coaching staff. Her initiatives in program development included player recognition and culture-building efforts. Earlier in her time at Baylor, she served as the Character Formation Coordinator working with 8 sports programs. She oversaw the career and leadership development pillars of the Baylor Built program, planning and executing 22 hours of Leadership Programs and 11 hours of Career Development programs in Fall 2021. Felix began her career at Baylor when she served as an Operations Assistant for the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE). Nate Letton enters his fourth season as tight ends coach in 2026. Letton was named tight ends coach in February 2023 after joining the Badgers as a quality control coach in January 2023. Letton leads the Badgers' tight ends unit after coaching the TEs at Cincinnati in 2022. Letton helped Lance Mason to a special season in 2025. Mason earned second team all-Big Ten honors after posting a team-high 398 receiving yards on 30 catches while finding the end zone four times. That marked the most yards for a Badger TE since Jake Ferguson in 2021. In 2024, Letton mentored senior Riley Nowakowski and sophomore Tucker Ashcraft as the lead TEs for the Badgers. Ashcraft made 12 catches for 82 yards and a score while team captain Nowakowski caught 11 passes for 74 yards. In his first season in 2023, Letton led a unit that lost three of its key contributors at the onset of fall camp. TE Hayden Rucci emerged as a key leader and freshman TE Tucker Ashcraft made an impact in his first collegiate season. Rucci led the unit with 125 receiving yards on 11 catches and earned the ReliaQuest Bowl 'Make it Possible' award, a recognition for his character, toughness and hard work. Under Letton’s watch, tight end Josh Whyle earned first team All-AAC honors. Whyle, a fifth-year senior and team captain, was a three-time All-AAC selection and finished his career with 88 receptions for 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns. Lambert enters his second season in 2024 as the Badgers' director of recruiting. Lambert had spent the previous two seasons holding the same position at Cincinnati, helping the Bearcats emerge to new heights and send a group, the program's largest ever, to the NFL in 2022. Since joining the Badgers in January 2023, Lambert has led the recruiting efforts that have brought in talent across the board for UW. Wisconsin's 2024 recruiting class ranked 23rd according to 247Sports after the Badgers' transfer portal haul ranked 13th nationally entering the 2023 season. Prior to joining the Badgers' staff, Lambert returned to Cincinnati in 2018 as a graduate assistant after playing safety for the Bearcats from 2008-2012. He coached safeties and served as the strength and conditioning coach at Ohio Northern from 2014-2017.

Haynes will enter his first season as the Badgers' secondary coach in 2026 after two season on UW's staff as cornerbacks coach. He joined the Badgers’ staff on Jan 12, 2023 after three seasons coaching the cornerbacks at Minnesota and also serving as co-defensive coordinator in 2022. Haynes, a coaching veteran with more than 25 years of collegiate experience, spent time with Luke Fickell on staff at Ohio State. Haynes managed the Buckeye secondary from 2005-11, holding co-defensive coordinator duties in 2011. Haynes also worked with UW defensive coordinator Mike Tressel at Michigan State from 2018-19. With Tressel as the defensive coordinator, Haynes coached the Spartan defensive backs in East Lansing. In 2024 at Wisconsin, Haynes helped the Badger secondary limit opponents to 177.7 passing yards per game, the 14th lowest clip in the nation. In his first season on the Badgers' staff in 2023, Haynes helped cornerback Ricardo Hallman earn AP third team All-America honors. Hallman grabbed seven interceptions, the most in the country and the most for a Badger cornerback since 2000. As a team, Wisconsin collected 13 interceptions, the third-most in the Big Ten. With Haynes as co-defensive coordinator at Minnesota in 2022, the Gophers ranked seventh in the country in pass efficiency defense (108.5). Robert Steeples joined the Badgers’ staff in December 2025 as Wisconsin’s cornerbacks coach. A former NFL player and current up-and-coming talent in the coaching ranks, Steeples arrived in Madison after two seasons as a senior offensive analyst at Iowa State. Steeples coached the LSU corners from 2022-23 and played the position at the college level (Missouri and Memphis) and in the NFL (2013-15). In his first season at Iowa State, Steeples helped the 2024 Cyclones reach heights never before touched at the school as the team finished 11-3 overall, recording the first double-digit win season in program history. ISU finished 7-2 in Big 12 Conference action and ended the season ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25, the second-highest end of season ranking in school history. Steeples worked with the Cyclone wide receivers and the group included one of the nation's best duos in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. The pair combined for 167 receptions, 2,377 yards and 17 touchdown receptions. Higgins and Noel were the first duo in school history and one of just two nationally in 2024 to each record 1,000 yards in the same season. After a playing career at Missouri and Memphis, Steeples spent time in the professional ranks with the St. Louis Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys from 2013-16. Borland, who had been in the program since 2023 as a graduate assistant, was named Wisconsin’s inside linebackers coach prior to the 2026 season. Borland served as the assistant linebackers coach in 2025. Borland played as a linebacker at Ohio State from 2016-20, becoming a three-time captain. He ranked second for the Buckeyes with 55 tackles in 2020, helping Ohio State reach the CFP National Championship after earning Defensive MVP honors in the Buckeye’s Sugar Bowl win over Clemson.
