EDUCATION: University of Wisconsin Oshkosh - 2010-14 YEARS AT SAN FRANCISCO: Aug. 2024 - Present CAREER HIGHLIGHTS AT SAN FRANCISCO: Jordan Carpenter was named head coach of the University of San Francisco men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs on August 2, 2024. In his first season at the helm, he led the men’s and women’s track and field programs to 25 new all-time program top-10 marks, highlighted by two school records (Ellis McKean in the 3000-meter steeplechase and Henriette Halwas in the 60-meter hurdles). Led Ellis McKean to his first-ever NCAA Track and Field First Round Qualifier in the 3000-meter steeplechase. McKean secured a 43rd-place finish in the event while finishing 15th in his heat at E.B. Cushing Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M. Before the start of the 2025 cross country season, the men’s and women’s programs were ranked in the USTFCCCA NCAA D1 Cross Country Regional rankings, with the women’s program ranked 10th in the West Region and the men slotted in 15th. OTHER CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Carpenter comes to the Hilltop following a stint at Boston University, serving as the associate head coach of the cross country and track and field programs. During his tenure at BU, Carpenter has led 16 athletes to NCAA Regionals highlighted by Daisy Liljegren who qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000m in her first two seasons at BU and was an All-American in the event in 2023. He was also an instructor in the undergraduate and graduate Exercise Science programs. Marcello was Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track and Field Coach at Southern New Hampshire University from February 2022 until November 2023. At SNHU, Marcello was named the 2022 NCAA East Region and NE10 Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after his women's team won the 2022 NE10 Cross Country Championship and the 2022 NCAA East Regional Championship, qualifying the team for the NCAA Championship. Marcello also helped the track and field program win three NE10 Conference Championships while coaching 14 NE10 Conference champions in every event from 1500 to 10,000 meters. His time at SNHU culminated with a Division II All-American in the Steeplechase (Ashley Corcoran, 2023 NCAA Championships). Before SNHU, Marcello was the head men's cross country coach at Quinnipiac, spending two seasons with the Bobcats. Marcello began his collegiate coaching career at Division III Oneonta, serving as the associate head coach of the cross country and track and field programs.
