UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram named Delaney Rose as the head coach of the Blazers beach volleyball program on Aug. 17, 2023. Rose spent two seasons as head coach and three seasons overall at UAB. Rose guided the Blazers to the most successful stretch in program history, highlighted by a record-setting 2026 season in which UAB went 26-11 overall and a perfect 5-0 in Conference USA play. The 26 wins marked a program record and the first undefeated conference season in school history. Under Rose’s direction, UAB earned its first AVCA All-Americans in program history as Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant were named second team in 2026. The duo set multiple program records, including single-season wins (29), wins as a pair (29) and Court 1 victories (29) . Haas finished her career as UAB’s all-time wins leader (96), while Stant ranked second with 83 career victories . In 2025, Rose led UAB to a then-program-record 21 wins and continued the program’s upward trajectory . Haas and Stant recorded 26 wins as a pair, setting the program’s single-season record at the time . Rose, a 2024 recipient of the AVCA Thirty Under 30, guided the Blazers to a school-record 19 wins in her first season as head coach (2023-24). Assistant Coach
Ali O’Donnell joined the UAB beach volleyball staff as an assistant coach in 2026 following her playing career with the Blazers. In her first season on staff, O’Donnell helped UAB to the most successful season in program history, finishing 26-11 overall and undefeated in Conference USA play. The Blazers set a program record for wins and produced the first AVCA All-Americans in school history. O’Donnell returned to UAB after serving as a team captain during her senior season in 2025. She recorded 11 total wins, including 10 on Court 6, and helped lead the Blazers to a then-program-record 21 victories. As a junior in 2024, O’Donnell went 2-1 in limited action on Court 6, and she appeared in matches during the 2023 season on Court 5. She began her collegiate career in 2022.

The duo set program records for single-season wins (29), wins as a pair (29) and Court 1 victories (29) . In 2025, Otte helped guide the Blazers to a then-program-record 21 wins , while Haas and Stant established a program-record 26 wins as a duo at the time . Otte also helped guide UAB to a school-record 19 wins in her first season on staff (2023-24), while assisting in the development of Arden Copping, who became the program’s all-time wins leader at the time (70). Additionally, the beach volleyball program had the highest collective GPA of any team at UAB during the 2023-24 school year and was awarded the AVCA Team Academic Award. Otte was a member of the beach program from 2020-22 and served as team captain in 2021 and 2022. She was a staple in the middle of UAB's lineup playing a versatile role as a both a blocker and defender. Otte compiled 24 total wins as a Blazer and is tied for seventh all-time for Court 2 wins.
