Head Coach
Lori Goodwin, who has been a part of the UAB rifle program since its inception, coaches her 26th season as the Blazer head coach in 2021-22 and is UAB's longest-tenured head coach. Goodwin was a member of the UAB rifle team when the program started in 1993 and also was on the team in 1994 and 1995, serving as captain her latter two seasons. She began shooting at age 15 while attending Ramsay High School in Birmingham and was team captain her senior year. She helped lead Ramsay to division titles in 1987 and 1988. Goodwin was named SoCon Co-Coach of the Year for the 2019 season after leading UAB to its first-ever conference title. Goodwin coached the Blazers to a third-place finish at the Southern Conference Championships and seven All-SoCon Awards in 2020-21. Goodwin, who lettered all three years with the Blazers, became the head coach in 1995 upon graduation. She earned her degree in history at UAB. Goodwin has two sons: Justin and Cooper, and one daughter, Taylor.
