Assistant Coach (Vertical Jumps, Combined Events)
Jim Garnham entered his first season as an assistant coach at The University of Texas during the 2020-21 season, coaching the vertical jumps and combined events. Prior to his arrival in Austin, Garnham spent two seasons with Purdue after a decade of success at Notre Dame. In his fifth season on the Forty Acres, Coach Garnham led Osawese Agbonkonkon to his first NCAA Championships appearance in the high jump. Agbonkonkon was the Texas Relays Champion with a personal best clearance of 2.17m (7-1.50). His freshman pole vaulter Sam Abati reached the NCAA West First Round and finished 15th with a make of 5.17m (16-11.50) but set a personal best at 5.32m (17-5.50) in his first collegiate season. Sophomore Brock Lewis was a two-time SEC scorer in the multis highlighted by two fifth-place finishes. He scored 7,259 points in the decathlon for an overall PB with four personal bests along the way and set a heptathlon personal best at 5,439 points. The women's side was led by freshman Meagan Humphries who was also fifth in the heptathlon at the SEC Championships with 5,452 points and moved to No. 4 on UT's All-Time Performer list. The 2023-24 season saw Garnham and Leo Neugebauer make Texas history when Neugebauer became the first male in Texas history to win the Bowerman Award - the highest honor in collegiate track and field. Volunteer Coach, Track and Field
Julien Alfred joins the Texas staff after an illustrious career with UT and a historic first season as a professional with Puma. Alfred left the collegiate world for a 60-meter indoor World Championships Title, St. Lucia's first-ever Olympic medal winning gold in the 100m with a time of 10.72 and a silver medal in the 200m at 22.08 and the 100m Diamond League title. Before turning pro, Alfred dominated the NCAA scene with six NCAA titles, including four individual. Alfred was part of the most dominant 4x100 relay teams in NCAA history, setting the NCAA record at 41.55 and won back-to-back NCAA titles. She also won the 60-meter indoor title with an NCAA record time of 6.94, won the 100m back-to-back years and swept the 200m in 2023. To cap off her career, she went undefeated in the 100m, won the NCAA team title on her home track and won UT's second-ever Bowerman.

Leo Neugebauer joins the coaching staff as a volunteer coach after a historic collegiate season with Texas. Neugebauer is an Olympic silver medalist in the decathlon, a three-time NCAA Champion and the first male to ever win the Bowerman Award at the University of Texas. He scored 8,748 points in his first-ever appearance at the Olympics, broke the NCAA decathlon record with 8,961 points and broke the NCAA record in the discus for a decathlete with a throw of 58.46m. He won back-to-back NCAA decathlete titles, while adding his first in the heptathlon to conclude his collegiate career and left UT with both program records.

Assistant Coach (Throws)
Coach Mohamad Saatara joined the Longhorn staff in June of 2025 as the new throws coach for the University of Texas after 12 seasons at Cal. Saatara is a veteran of more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience and nearly 30 overall, was an All-American thrower himself and has coached student-athletes that claimed 43 total All-American honors, four national championships, two NCAA records and a multitude of conference, meet and school records during his time as an assistant coach. Saatara comes the Forty Acres after spending the last 12 seasons at the University of California-Berkeley, where he joined the track & field program in August of 2013 as assistant coach for throwing events. He also spent three years at Michigan, which followed eight at Northern Arizona during his collegiate coaching career. "I'm so excited to be adding Coach Saatara to our staff. He is someone I've known and followed for a long time and has an incredible reputation in the coaching circles at every level," said Floréal. "His ability to coach and develop throwers is world renowned and the success his athletes have had on the collegiate and international level is a tribute to the work he pours into them. Rhasidat Adeleke - Ireland's fastest woman - left her mark on the Forty Acres before returning as a volunteer coach. The 2024 Olympian is also a three-time NCAA Champion along with her silver medal in the 400m at the 2024 European Championships. She holds both indoor and outdoor 400m records at UT, along with the 4x100 outdoor record. Adeleke also boasts the Irish National Record in the 60m indoor, 100m outdoor, 200m indoor and outdoor, 300m indoor and 400m indoor and outdoor. Adeleke's name is also on the 4x400 and mixed 4x400 relay records. While at UT, Adeleke was part of the most dominant 4x100 teams in NCAA history, setting the record at 41.55. Adeleke helped Texas win back-to-back titles in the event before winning her first individual title in 2023 in the 400m.
