Director of Program Development
A former longtime head coach and member of Jim Schlossnagle's staff for the last three seasons, Chuck Box serves as Director of Program Development for Texas Baseball. In three seasons at Texas A&M, Box helped lead the Aggies to historic levels including their best-ever NCAA runner-up finish and 53 total wins in 2024. The 2024 Aggies squad featured outstanding pitching (fourth-best nationally in ERA), great fielding, reliable big bats (fourth-best nationally in home runs with 136) and clutch hitting, with five players earning All-America honors. The 2022 squad advanced to the College World Series in his first season, winning A&M's first games in Omaha since 1993 with a 44-20 record and SEC Western Division title. In his 25-year head coaching career, Box amassed a record of 735-326 (.692 winning percentage), coaching 14 All-Americans, 13 professional players, 31 All-State selections, and 143 All-Conference designees. He is a six-time MAIS Coach of the Year with countless additional honors. Box previously served as Head Baseball Coach at Hartsfield Academy and Jackson Preparatory School, where he won six state championships and elevated Jackson Prep into a premier national program. Notable players he coached include SEC alumni and All-Americans Jake Mangum and Parker Caracci. Sport Management) Wife: Mary Children: Coy (Son), Gray (Son) EXPERIENCE 2009-21: Dir. of Baseball Ops., Texas 2021-24: Scouting Dir., Five Tool Baseball 2025-Pres.: Dir. of Baseball Ops., Texas PLAYING EXPERIENCE 2005-08: Texas Drew Bishop enters his 15th season as the director of baseball operations at Texas. He is responsible for the team's day-to-day operations, including team travel, overseeing camps and on-campus recruiting visits. Bishop also helps organize the yearly Alumni Weekend, the budget and scheduling. A freshman on the Longhorns' 2005 national championship team, Bishop is in his second stint on staff. He previously served as the director of operations from 2009-21. Following his initial 13-year run as member of the support staff, Bishop became the scouting director for Five Tool Baseball from 2021-24. Additionally, he managed the Five Tool North Texas Summer Collegiate League. The right-handed pitcher played four seasons for the late Hall of Fame skipper Augie Garrido. During his playing career in burnt orange, Texas went 182-76 (.705), highlighted by winning the 2005 College World Series. Bishop garnered the Longhorn Academic Spirit Award in 2006 and 2007, the UT Teammate of the Year Award in 2007 and 2008, and the Student Services Most Inspired Performance Award in 2008. Director of Player Development
Gehrig Mosiello heads into his second season as the director of player development at Texas. In his first campaign in Austin, the Longhorns registered their best record in 15 years, notching a 44-14 mark. Texas became the first club to win the Southeastern Conference in its first season since the league's inaugural campaign in 1933. The Longhorns, who were picked eighth in the league's preseason poll, won the conference by two games. Texas' 22-8 ledger in SEC action marked its best record in conference play since 2010. Behind one of the country's best pitching staffs and a powerful offense, the Longhorns were named the No. 2 national seed and hosted the NCAA Austin Regional. On the mound, Texas posted the second-best WHIP (1.18) and the sixth-best ERA (3.71) in all of Division I baseball. Offensively, the Longhorns mounted 85 home runs, the fourth-most in a season in program history. Before arriving on The Forty Acres, Mosiello spent the 2024 season as an assistant coach at Johnson University under former Tennessee skipper Dave Serrano. He got his start in coaching, as an undergraduate assistant for two years at TCU. During the 2022 campaign, Mosiello helped the Horned Frogs claim the Big 12 regular season title. The Aledo, Texas, native also boasts experience in the Alaska Baseball League, as an assistant in 2022 and manager in 2023. Assistant Athletic Trainer
Sam Garcia enters her second season as an assistant athletic trainer with the University of Texas baseball program. Garcia arrived on The Forty Acres after spending eight years in professional baseball, including her final five campaigns with the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Most recently, she served as the athletic trainer for the Clearwater Threshers, the Phillies' Single-A affiliate. In 2022, Garcia worked as the major league medical operations liaison with the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies. Prior to that, she spent two seasons with the Phillies' Dominican Summer League affiliates, supporting player development and injury management at the international level. Garcia began her professional baseball career in 2018, as an athletic training student with the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. She followed that experience with an athletic training internship with the New York Mets organization, working with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Originally from Clayton, Calif., Garcia earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from California State University, Sacramento. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science at Concordia University Chicago. A certified athletic trainer, Garcia is licensed to practice in both Texas and Florida. She is also a Corrective Exercise Specialist, a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist and certified in dry needling.
