Biography

A former longtime head coach and member of Jim Schlossnagle's staff for the last three seasons, Chuck Box serves as Director of Program Development for Texas Baseball. In three seasons at Texas A&M, Box helped lead the Aggies to historic levels including their best-ever NCAA runner-up finish and 53 total wins in 2024. The 2024 Aggies squad featured outstanding pitching (fourth-best nationally in ERA), great fielding, reliable big bats (fourth-best nationally in home runs with 136) and clutch hitting, with five players earning All-America honors. The 2022 squad advanced to the College World Series in his first season, winning A&M's first games in Omaha since 1993 with a 44-20 record and SEC Western Division title. In his 25-year head coaching career, Box amassed a record of 735-326 (.692 winning percentage), coaching 14 All-Americans, 13 professional players, 31 All-State selections, and 143 All-Conference designees. He is a six-time MAIS Coach of the Year with countless additional honors. Box previously served as Head Baseball Coach at Hartsfield Academy and Jackson Preparatory School, where he won six state championships and elevated Jackson Prep into a premier national program. Notable players he coached include SEC alumni and All-Americans Jake Mangum and Parker Caracci. Prior to high school coaching, he served multiple positions at Freed-Hardeman University and four years at Itawamba Community College, leading to a 148-57 record and NJCAA top ranking.
