University of Texas head coach Margueritte Bates announced the hiring of assistant coach Courtney Drummond on Dec. 18, 2025. Drummond comes to The Forty Acres after spending the past four seasons at Wake Forest, where she helped the Demon Deacons reach new heights. Wake Forest finished the 2023 regular season with a program-record two losses before reaching its second College Cup and first-ever national championship game in 2024. “I had hoped for years for an opportunity to work on a staff with Courtney,” Bates said. “She brings a tactical acuity to the field that is honed by international experience and savvy. Her passion is individual player development and her commitment to that area is unmatched. Her impact on our student-athletes, staff and program will be immediate and exceedingly positive. I can’t wait to get started with Courtney!” With Drummond on staff, the Demon Deacons brought in three nationally ranked recruiting class, with the two most recent groups among the top 25 in the country. Under her guidance, Wake Forest garnered 13 All-ACC honors, including 2025 ACC Freshman of the Year Kylie Maxwell. Maxwell was tabbed No. 1 on TopDrawerSoccer’s Midseason Freshmen Rankings. Drummond tutored three Deacs who earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches All-American Teams, highlighted by 2024 Mac Hermann Semifinalist Caiya Hanks. Overall, Wake Forest sent 10 players to the professional level, spanning across the NWSL, Northern Super League, USL Super League and overseas. “

Lexi Wright comes to The Forty Acres after a standout five-year playing career at UCLA. During her time with the Bruins, UCLA mounted an 83-14-12 (.817) record, the second-best mark of any program across that stretch. The Bruins reached the NCAA Tournament in all five campaigns, winning three conference titles and the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. While at UCLA, Wright appeared in 67 matches, drawing 40 starts. The Carlsbad, Calif., native registered 15 goals and 11 assists over 3,148 minutes. This past fall, Wright returned to the pitch after missing the entire 2024 campaign due to injury. The 5-foot-6 forward played in 13 contests and made three starts, earning recognition as a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree and a spot on the first-ever Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Fall). In 2023, Wright garnered All-Pac-12 Third Team plaudits. During UCLA's NCAA Championship run her sophomore year, Wright ranked third on the team in all scoring categories, totaling 22 points on eight goals and six assists. She was named to the College Cup All-Tournament Team after sparking the Bruins' comeback in the title game with an 80th-minute strike. Prior to her arrival at UCLA, Wright was tabbed a TopDrawer Soccer Second Team All-American and a First Team All-State selection. During her time with the Bruins, UCLA posted a 67-13-9 (.803) record, the fourth-best mark of any program during that stretch. The Bruins reached the NCAA Tournament in all four campaigns, winning a pair of conference titles and the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. "Simply put, Molly is one of the hardest working and most trustworthy coaches in the industry," Bates said. "She sets the standard of care for our student-athletes, all while being her goofy, fun-loving self. Molly consistently orchestrates back lines and goalkeepers that lead the country in shutouts and dominate nearly all defensive statistics. Under Poletto's guidance, UCLA ranked second nationally in goals against average (.047) this fall. In 2024, the Bruins led the country with a 0.41 team goals against average. Across those two seasons, UCLA totaled a nation's best 28 clean sheets, highlighted by three consecutive shutout victories to win the school's first-ever Big Ten Conference tournament crown.
