Volunteer Assistant Coach
Sarah Goodman enters her eighth season with the Big Green as a volunteer assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season. She serves as the program's catching coach and the pitch caller. Goodman previously spent five seasons at MIT. During her time in Cambridge, the Engineers enjoyed a multitude of broken team records, the first conference championship in program history, four NCAA tournament appearances, two Super Regional Championships, and two trips to the DIII College World Series, finishing fifth and seventh in the country. Goodman was part of staffs to receive the NFCA New England Coaching Staff of the Year Award in both 2016 and 2018. Goodman primarily worked with the catchers and outfield as well as offensive development and pitch calling during her run with the Engineers. Prior to her tenure at MIT, Goodman spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant Coach with her alma mater, Smith College, and helped them to an ECAC Championship title in 2014. She also spent five seasons as a head coach for club ball in Rochester, New York. As a player at Smith College, Goodman was a four-year starter for the Pioneers. She served as captain for two seasons and was voted MVP at the conclusion of the 2012 campaign. As a senior, Goodman led the team in several categories, including hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage, stolen bases, and batting average while committing zero errors in the field. Assistant Coach
Sydney Benz was promoted to first assistant coach during the summer of 2022 following her first season with the Big Green. She leads Dartmouth's hitting efforts and assists with defensive coaching. During the 2025 season, with Head Coach Jen Williams at the helm, Benz helped coach four athletes to All-Ivy recognition. Alaana Panu was named unanimous First Team, Jenna Brown was named Second Team and Academic All-Ivy while Jensin Hall and Faby Serna were named Honorable Mentions. Panu also added an NFCA Third Team All-Region honor at the conclusion of the season. Defensively, Benz coached the Big Green to the least amount of errors in the entire Ivy League. Last season, Benz served as Dartmouth's defense coach and led the No. 1 defensive unit in the Ivy League. She helped mentor Ivy League Player of the Year Billie McFadyen and All-Ivy League selection Kate Farren to strong seasons in the infield. Benz helped Dartmouth attain the best fielding percentage in the Ivy League as the program finished the season with a 14-7 record in conference play. Benz joined the coaching staff in August of 2021 after serving two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at East Carolina. She had a hand in the day-to-day operations of the Pirates program, including practice plans, recruiting, film break down and scouting reports while acting as the first base coach. Taurian Houston
Taurian Houston joined Dartmouth Athletics in April 2023 as the Executive Associate Athletics Director for Administration, marking his second tenure with the Big Green. In his current role, Houston provides strategic leadership and coordination across Dartmouth's 35 varsity sports programs. He leads the Sport Administration team and serves as a key liaison across all athletics department areas, including Business & Finance, External Strategy, and Human Resources. He has direct sport oversight of Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving, Baseball, and Softball. Additionally, Houston has administrative oversight of Compliance, Athletics Equipment and Travel Operations. He is a member of the Director of Athletics and Recreation's leadership team and assists with the department-wide strategic planning efforts. He steers the department's Camp and Clinic Committee, which has generated record revenue under his leadership, and plays a pivotal role in advancement initiatives and capital projects that enhance the student-athlete experience. Houston collaborates with several campus partners, including Integrity & Compliance, Safety and Security, Community Standards & Accountability and the Office of General Counsel. Trent Talmadge
Trent Talmadge joined the Dartmouth Strength and Conditioning program in July 2022. He is responsible for Men's and Women's Soccer, Baseball, Softball and Lightweight and Women's Rowing. With nearly 12 years of experience as a strength and performance coach, he has trained over 1,300 combined athletes and clients ranging ages 11-95. Coach Talmadge previously served as Assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of New Hampshire where he led all aspects of performance training for Men's Soccer, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Swim and Dive, along with being an Assistant Strength Coach with Football. During that time, Men's Soccer won the American East Conference 2020, Runner-up 2021, along with NCAA tournament appearances with final rankings of #19 (2020) and #9 (2021). Swim and Dive captured the 2021 American East title. At Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., Coach Talmadge worked with the nationally ranked Swimming and Diving team along with the Softball program, the men's Blue & White Swimming & Diving team and Men's Soccer. The Women's Swim/Dive Division II team had a 2019 NE-10 Championship finish (National Rank: 22) and 2020 NE-10 Runner-Up (National Rank: 24).
