Head Coach
Trevor Michelson enters his third year as head coach of the Dartmouth Lightweights in 2024-25. He was initially hired as an assistant with the lightweight team prior to the 2017-18 season and spent one year coaching the Dartmouth Women (2020-2021). Under his tutelage, the Dartmouth Lightweights have qualified for the IRA National Championship the last two years, after a 10-year hiatus. In 2024, the Lightweights won the Subin and Durand cups, placed fourth at the Eastern Sprints in the Varsity and finished fifth as a team at the National Championship. Six of Michelson’s rowers have gone on to represent the United States at the Under-23 World Championships, including an all-Dartmouth quad that made the A final, finishing sixth at the 2021 World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic. Michelson has extensive experience coaching at the international level. He coached the junior men’s double and Under 23 lightweight quad at the 2018 and 2021 World Championships respectively, and the USA coxed four to a bronze medal at the 2023 Under 23 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In 2024, he once again coached the United States coxed four, this time winning Gold. Before making the move to Hanover, the New York City native was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater (Wesleyan) for the men’s rowing program, and was the head coach for the Vesper Boat Club’s Under 23 Lightweight men’s team for two summers. Dartmouth Athletics has announced the appointment of Jerry Hubshman Jr. as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, where he will lead all fundraising and stewardship efforts supporting the Big Green's 35 varsity programs, 36 club sports and intramurals. Hubshman is coming from Fordham University, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Athletics Development and Senior Associate Director of Athletics. In that role, he led a five-person development team, directed all athletics fundraising operations, and provided strategic leadership for major gift, annual fund, and capital campaign initiatives. At Fordham, Hubshman played a key role in securing transformational support for several capital projects, including a $2 million football locker room renovation, a $1.5 million campaign to enhance Water Polo operations, as well as secured funding for a sailing boathouse project. Prior to his time at Fordham, Hubshman spent five years at Hofstra University, where he served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs, leading the department to a 111% increase in philanthropic revenue, a 303% increase in unique donors, and a 59% increase in corporate sponsorships. Hubshman began his career at his alma mater, Stony Brook University, where he was a member of the Seawolves football team and served as team captain. Strength & Conditioning Coach
Trent Talmadge joined the Dartmouth Strength and Conditioning program in July 2022. He is responsible for Men's and Women's Soccer, Baseball, Softball and Lightweight and Women's Rowing. With nearly 12 years of experience as a strength and performance coach, he has trained over 1,300 combined athletes and clients ranging ages 11-95. Coach Talmadge previously served as Assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of New Hampshire where he led all aspects of performance training for Men's Soccer, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Swim and Dive, along with being an Assistant Strength Coach with Football. During that time, Men's Soccer won the American East Conference 2020, Runner-up 2021, along with NCAA tournament appearances with final rankings of #19 (2020) and #9 (2021). Swim and Dive captured the 2021 American East title. At Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., Coach Talmadge worked with the nationally ranked Swimming and Diving team along with the Softball program, the men's Blue & White Swimming & Diving team and Men's Soccer. The Women's Swim/Dive Division II team had a 2019 NE-10 Championship finish (National Rank: 22) and 2020 NE-10 Runner-Up (National Rank: 24). Men's Soccer won the NE10 Championship 2019 and had their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance and tourney match win. Yuri is entering her thirteenth year at Dartmouth ahead of the 2025-26 season. Prior to her hire at Dartmouth, Fujioka completed an internship year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Fujioka started her career at Dartmouth with the women's basketball team. Now, she works with men's heavyweight rowing and women's rugby. She has a diverse background in education, most recently earning her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Illinois State University in 2011. Prior to that, she earned two undergraduate degrees, the first in 2006 in Tokyo, Japan, from Kokushikan University, where she studied Physical Education. After developing in an interest in Athletic Training, Yuri pursued her Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University, graduating in 2009. Yuri's professional interests include manual therapies, and she has completed the Graston Technique Module 1.
