Offensive Line
Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning officially announced A'lique Terry as the Ducks' new offensive line coach on Feb. 14, 2023. A former graduate assistant for the Ducks, Terry will return to Eugene after spending 2022 as the assistant defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings. Terry spent 2019 and 2020 as a graduate assistant at Oregon working with the offensive line, and then went to Hawai'I in 2021 as the offensive line coach before joining the Vikings for the 2022 season. The Miami, Fla., native started his coaching career as a quality control coach at Wake Forest in 2018 following four seasons as an offensive lineman for the Demon Deacons. Terry helped the Vikings to a playoff appearance in 2022 while working with a defensive line that included Danielle Hunter, who tied for 12th in the NFL with 11.5 sacks. As a graduate assistant with the Ducks in 2019, Terry worked with an Oregon offensive line that included a trio of all-Americans in Penei Sewell, Shane Lemieux and Calvi

Inside Linebackers
After serving as a defensive analyst for the Ducks in 2023, Brian Michalowski was promoted to the role of inside linebackers coach at Oregon on Jan. 31, 2024. With Michalowski on staff in 2023, the Ducks went 12-2 while boasting one of the most improved defenses in the country, ranking ninth nationally in scoring defense (16.5 PPG), 11th in rushing defense (102.57 YPG) and 22nd in total defense (318.4 YPG) while also leading the Pac-12 in passing defense (215.9 YPG). Oregon was one of just three teams in the nation (Michigan, Ohio State) to hold opponents to 10 points or less at least seven times. Michalowski joined the Ducks in 2023 after spending the 2022 season as a defensive quality control analyst at Oregon State. He was previously the outside linebackers coach at Colorado from 2019-22, and he worked with Lanning at Georgia as a defensive quality control analyst in 2018 and at Memphis as a graduate assistant in 2016-17. Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs
Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning added to his 2023 coaching staff on Jan. 25 with the hiring of Chris Hampton as the Ducks' new co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. Hampton comes to Eugene after spending the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Tulane, helping guide the Green Wave to a 12-2 overall record in 2022 and a win over USC in the Cotton Bowl. Hampton spent four seasons (2016-19) as Tulane's defensive backs coach before leaving to be the cornerbacks coach at Duke in 2020, after which he returned to Tulane to take over as defensive coordinator. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Arkansas State in 2008, and followed that up with two seasons (2009-10) in the same role at Georgia Tech. Hampton went to Central Arkansas as the safeties coach in 2011, and then spent four seasons (2012-15) as the defensive backs coach at McNeese State before joining Tulane.

Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends
Drew Mehringer joined Dan Lanning's inaugural coaching staff at Oregon as the tight ends coach on January 4, 2022. He is known as one of the nation's top recruiters after helping Texas and Houston bring in the top classes in their conferences. Mehringer came to Eugene after spending a year as the quarterbacks coach at New Mexico and the co-offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic. He also was the offensive coordinator at Rutgers and James Madison, implementing new schemes at both schools. Mehringer started his career as a graduate assistant at Iowa State and Ohio State. A native of Mansfield, Texas, Mehringer attended Rice as a quarterback before suffering a career-ending injury.

Special Teams Coordinator/Nickels
Joe Lorig returned to the Pacific Northwest to join Dan Lanning's inaugural staff at Oregon as the special teams coordinator and nickels coach on January 3, 2022. The Edmonds, Wash., native came back to the West Coast after spending the previous three seasons as the special teams coordinator while working with various defensive positions. Lorig has a long coaching history that includes stops at Memphis, Utah State, Arizona State, and multiple FCS and Division II schools. "Joe has a proven track record of coaching special teams," Lanning said at the time of the hiring. "His units have twice ranked No. 1 nationally in special teams efficiency, and Joe is also connected with many of the high school coaches throughout the state of Oregon. He has an affinity for this part of the country, and it's just very exciting to be able to attract a coach of this caliber to our staff." Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs
Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning officially announced the hiring of Ra'Shaad Samples as the Ducks' new assistant head coach and running backs coach on April 9, 2024. Samples joins the Ducks after spending the 2023 season as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Arizona State. He was the running backs coach for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, after being hired as the youngest position coach in the NFL. Still just 29 years old, Samples will be an FBS assistant head coach for the third time in his career. He spent time as the assistant head coach and running backs coach at TCU in 2021 before joining the Rams, following three seasons at SMU. He began at SMU in 2019 as an offensive assistant with an emphasis on recruiting, and was elevated to running backs coach and recruiting coordinator before being promoted to assistant head coach.


Wide Receivers/Pass Game Coordinator
Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning announced the hiring of Ross Douglas as the Ducks' new wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator on Feb. 20, 2025. Douglas joins the Ducks after spending the 2024 season in the same role at Syracuse. He was the wide receivers coach for the New England Patriots for three seasons prior to going to Syracuse, and has also had collegiate coaching stints at Richmond and Rutgers. Douglas helped direct the nation's top passing offense at Syracuse in 2024, as the Orange led the FBS with 370.0 passing yards per game while ranking sixth with 34 passing touchdowns. Syracuse's rise to the top passing offense in the nation with Douglas on staff came after the Orange ranked 116th nationally in passing in 2023. Douglas spent three seasons with the New England Patriots prior to going to Syracuse, joining Bill Belichick's staff prior to the 2021 season. Defensive Line
Tony Tuioti joined Dan Lanning's inaugural staff at Oregon as the defensive line coach on December 23, 2021, after spending the previous three seasons in the same role at Nebraska. A former standout defensive lineman himself at Hawaii, Tuioti has spent several seasons coaching out west at both California and his alma mater. In between working for Cal and Hawaii, Tuioti worked for Michigan and the Cleveland Browns. He also spent time early in his career as a high school coach, serving as the head coach at Kalaheo (Hawaii) High School and the defensive coordinator at Silverado (Nev.) High School. As a player, Tuioti was an All-WAC defensive lineman as a junior and as a senior. He was a key leader for a team that tied for the largest one-year turnaround in NCAA history, going from 0-12 the previous season to a 9-4 mark that included a share of the WAC title.
