Bradley Dale Peveto was named Co-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach at North Texas in January of 2026. Peveto has more than 30 years of coaching including time as a head coach as well as an assistant coach for national champions at both the FBS and FCS levels. He joined UNT after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the same position at Texas State. A native of southeast Texas, Peveto has spent more than 14 years coaching in the state of Texas. The former SMU defensive back joined Texas State after three years at UTEP as the defensive coordinator. He also had in-state stops at Texas A&M, Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Trinity Valley Community College. Peveto has been a part of teams that have reached 11 bowl games, including the 2007 BCS National Championship with LSU as the national champion's linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. His teams have also made four appearances in the FCS Playoffs and helped lead Stephen F. Austin to a national championship in 1989. Peveto’s coaching resume also includes appearances in the Texas Bowl (2X), the Tax Slayer Bowl, the Citrus Bowl, the Music City Bowl, the Peach Bowl (2X) and the Sugar Bowl. In addition to his time at Texas schools, Peveto was the head coach at Northwestern State and also has spent time at Southern Miss, Arkansas, Middle Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss. Cody Rieger was hired as the Assistant Director for Football Video in July of 2024 and was elevated to the Director for Football Video in February of 2025. Rieger comes to UNT after spending the 2023 season as a football video coaching intern at North Carolina, helping the Tar Heels finish 8-5 and make an appearance in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Rieger also spent the spring of 2023 at Minnesota as an intern. Prior to working at UNC, Rieger was a student assistant at North Dakota State for four seasons, becoming proficient in using Pro Football Focus (PFF) data to provide analytics throughout the season. Rieger graduated from North Dakota State in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in business.

Errin Joe was hired as the UNT Football General Manager in December of 2025. He oversees all aspects of the UNT roster, recruiting and personnel departments. Joe joined the Mean Green after spending the 2025 season as the Director of Scouting at the University of Texas. In his one season with the Longhorns, Joe helped Texas land the No. 8 ranked class in the nation according to 247Sports including three five-star prospects. The 2025 season also saw Texas post a 9-3 record in the regular season and earn a trip to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Prior to his time at Texas, Joe worked at his alma mater Georgia Tech for a total of six seasons in two separate stints. In 2023-24, Joe served as the General Manager for the Yellowjackets. Joe helped GT advance to bowl games in both seasons, including a win over UCF in the 2023 Gasparilla Bowl. One of the main cogs in recruiting for the Yellowjackets, Joe helped GT finish with the No. 33 composite recruiting ranking in the country in 2024, the highest rated class at GT since 2020. Jordan Diaz was hired as the head strength and conditioning coach for UNT football in December of 2025. Diaz joins the Mean Green after spending the last three seasons as director of speed and associate director of football performance at Georgia Tech. In three seasons with the Yellowjackets, Diaz helped Georgia Tech appear in three consecutive bowl games for the first time since 2012-14. Across three seasons, Diaz helped the Yellowjackets garner 27 All-Conference honorees including five First Team selections. In 2025, Georgia Tech finished the season with nine wins, the most for the program since 2016. The Yellowjackets posted the No. 13 total offense in FBS, led by QB Haynes King who finished the season ranked 10th in the Heisman Trophy voting. The 2024 season saw GT post seven wins and earn a berth to the Birmingham Bowl and win a pair of games against Top 10 opponents, including a 28-23 victory over No. 4 Miami. In Diaz' first season in 2023, the Yellowjackets earned a bowl berth and knocked off UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl for the program's first bowl victory since 2016. Diaz joined Georgia Tech in 2023 after two seasons at USF, where he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2021 and 2022. Katelyn Smith was named Director of Recruiting for UNT Football in March 2026 and leads the program's recruiting efforts, overseeing strategy, operations, and the overall student-athlete recruiting experience. Smith brings a strong background in recruiting operations and communications. She earned her bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Sports & Entertainment Management, from the University of South Carolina in 2021 before completing her master's degree in Strategic Communication in 2022. During her graduate studies, Smith joined South Carolina's football program in 2022 as an On-Campus Recruiting and Operations Coordinator. Over four seasons, she played an integral role in organizing official and unofficial visits, managing recruiting logistics, and supporting the program's day-to-day operations. A native of South Carolina, Smith was raised around the game as the daughter of a high school football coach.

Marielle McLoughlin was named the Director of Football Operations for UNT football in January of 2026. McLoughlin joined UNT after spending four seasons at the University of Houston Football as its Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations & Player Development. In her role at UH, McLoughlin arranged team travel including schedules, charter flight assignments, bus and hotel accommodations. She also coordinated various program activities and plans all details of special fundraising events such as the Head Coach Golf Tournament and Women's Clinic. McLoughlin was a key figure in Houston's involvement within the community including partnerships with local organizations such as Get-in-the Game Program and Field Day. She also tracked student-athlete off-campus housing, designs recruiting presentations and organizes and filters student-athlete ticket requests among other responsibilities. Prior to Houston, McLoughlin spent over two years at Mississippi State including her final year as Coordinator of Recruiting Operations where she assisted in all official and unofficial visits, facilitated all visits, game day, camps, clinics and special event set up and organized recruit and high school game day ticket requests among other responsibilities. McLoughlin worked as the Bulldogs' Operations Assistant from June 2019-May 2021, serving as the primary contact for the Athletic Business Office to the Football program. Matt Mattox was hired as the offensive line coach at UNT in January of 2026. Mattox joined the UNT staff after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons in the same role at East Carolina. A veteran coach with 20 seasons of experience, Mattox has made stops at East Carolina, Texas, UTSA, Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, South Florida, Tulsa and others. During his career, he has been part of eight bowl games, nine conference championship teams and two NJCAA National Championship programs. In 2025, ECU posted a 9-4 overall record, highlighted by a win over Pittsburgh in the Military Bowl. Mattox coached an offensive line that helped the Pirates rank 19th nationally in total offense, while averaging 32.7 points per game, which ranked 24th in the FBS. That season, Mattox played a key role in the development of First Team All-American Conference selection Jimarion McCrimon and Second Team All-Conference honoree Emmanuel Poku. ECU was one of only two American Athletic Conference programs, along with UNT, to have multiple offensive linemen earn first or second team all-conference recognition. In 2024, Mattox’s offensive line helped ECU rank among the FBS leaders in total offense (436.4 yards per game, 24th), passing offense (253.3 yards per game, 24th), scoring offense (32.0 points per game, 34th) and rushing offense (172.4 yards per game, 50th). Mike Bloesch was hired as the Run Game Coordinator and Tight Ends coach in January of 2026. Bloesch re-joins the Mean Green for his second stint with the program after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Cal. In 2024, Bloesch served as the Golden Bears' offensive coordinator/offensive line coach. Bloesch was Cal's offensive line coach/run game coordinator during the 2023 regular season before being elevated in December of 2023 prior to the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Under his watch, Bloesch helped the Golden Bears earn a bowl berth in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2018-19. In 2024, Bloesch helped the Cal offense average 358.2 yards per game en route to an appearance in the Art of Sport LA Bowl. The Golden Bears offense was one of the best at taking care of the football with just 11 turnovers lost in 13 games, the 15th-fewest in FBS. The offense had huge big-play potential with 10 plays of 50+ yards on the year, tied for the 17th-most in FBS. In his first season at Cal, Bloesch served as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach and was largely credited with the improvement of an offensive line that helped the running game average of 172.8 yards per game, its highest mark since 2012. Ray Gates was hired as the defensive line coach at North Texas in December of 2025. Gates joins the UNT staff after a stellar four-year stint as the head coach at North Crowley High School. In his time there, Gates turned North Crowley into a national power as he led the Panthers to the 6A Division I state title in 2024 with an unbeaten 16-0 record. He was named the 2024 MaxPreps National Coach of the Year and was named to the DCTF 40 Under 40 Coaches to Watch in 2022. He posted an overall record of 54-4 in four seasons, with a regional semifinal appearance in 2022, a state semifinal appearance in 2023 and a regional final appearance in 2025 to go along with his state title. North Crowley won 39 of 40 regular season games in Gates’ tenure. Following his historic 2024 season, Gates first full class of seniors at North Crowley produced nine Division I football signees, including current UNT QB Chris Jimmerson Jr. The 2024 signing class for North Crowley also featured signees at Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma State, Washington State, UNLV and Yale. Tyler Allen was hired as the quarterbacks coach at UNT in December of 2025. Allen joins the North Texas staff after spending the 2025 season as an analyst at the University of Texas. In his lone year with the Longhorns, Texas finished the season 9-3 and earned a trip to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Working with the wide receivers, Allen helped Texas WR Ryan Wingo earn Second Team All-SEC honors in 2025. Prior to his time at Texas, Allen spent four seasons at West Virginia serving in a number of roles including quarterbacks coach in 2024. Allen was an offensive analyst in 2022 and added the title of special assistant to the head coach in the 2023 spring. Allen worked directly with QB Garrett Greene in 2024 and helped him finish 19th in FBS in total offense averaging over 275 total yards per game. During his time as an analyst, Allen organized, implemented and maintained all aspects of game analysis for the offensive coaching staff and managed the walk-on program. He charted/tracked statistics during practice and competition, analyzed game film and formulated game plans to assist the offensive coaching staff with game preparation. Allen also organized the practice schedule, managed the offensive graduate assistants and student coaches and supported the head coach with recruiting communication.
