Co-Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers
Bradley Dale Peveto was named Co-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach at North Texas in January of 2026. Peveto has more than 30 years of coaching including time as a head coach as well as an assistant coach for national champions at both the FBS and FCS levels. He joined UNT after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the same position at Texas State. A native of southeast Texas, Peveto has spent more than 14 years coaching in the state of Texas. The former SMU defensive back joined Texas State after three years at UTEP as the defensive coordinator. He also had in-state stops at Texas A&M, Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Trinity Valley Community College. Peveto has been a part of teams that have reached 11 bowl games, including the 2007 BCS National Championship with LSU as the national champion's linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. His teams have also made four appearances in the FCS Playoffs and helped lead Stephen F. Austin to a national championship in 1989. Peveto’s coaching resume also includes appearances in the Texas Bowl (2X), the Tax Slayer Bowl, the Citrus Bowl, the Music City Bowl, the Peach Bowl (2X) and the Sugar Bowl. In addition to his time at Texas schools, Peveto was the head coach at Northwestern State and also has spent time at Southern Miss, Arkansas, Middle Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss. Errin Joe was hired as the UNT Football General Manager in December of 2025. He oversees all aspects of the UNT roster, recruiting and personnel departments. Joe joined the Mean Green after spending the 2025 season as the Director of Scouting at the University of Texas. Marielle McLoughlin was named the Director of Football Operations for UNT football in January of 2026. Matt Mattox was hired as the offensive line coach at UNT in January of 2026. Mattox joined the UNT staff after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons in the same role at East Carolina.
