Head Coach
The Courtney Breault File Coaching Experience 2024- Charlotte, Head coach 2018-24 Clemson, Assistant coach 2014-17 Furman, Assistant coach Playing Career 2012-13 Nebraska 2010-11 Arkansas Education Nebraska '13, Bachelor's in Business Management Clemson '21, Master's in Athletic Leadership Courtney Breault was named head softball coach on June 24, 2024 following a five-year stint as an assistant coach at Clemson. In her first season as a head coach, Breault led the Niners to a 30-27 overall record, which included a 17-10 record in American Conference play, which allowed Charlotte to finish third overall in the conference. The 2025 team ranked second all-time in Charlotte program history in runs scored with 315, third all-time in homers with 60, second in RBI with 276, and third all-time in slugging percentage at .467%. American Conference Player of the Year Jenna Lord as well as the 2025 American Conference Freshman of the Year Jaylah Jarrell led the Niners attack. Lord and Teagan Ritchie were also named to the NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. AT CLEMSON Breault came to Charlotte after serving as an assistant coach at Clemson for five years where she worked primarily with the Tigers' infielders and served as the program's recruiting coordinator. Breault helped guide Clemson's program, which began in 2020, to NCAA Regional appearances in each of their four full seasons in existence and back-to-back Super Regional berths in 2022 and 2023. She serves as the team's pitching coach. “Alyssa has Division I pitching experience as both a player and coach,” said Charlotte head coach Courtney Breault. “She was an elite pitcher at Jacksonville University and has been able to translate her success on the mound into confidence as a coach. She worked together with one of the best pitching coaches in the country in her previous role, which has allowed her to become exceptionally skilled at teaching mechanics and calling games. She has a natural ability to discover, develop, and manage pitchers at a high level. Alyssa also brings experience in opponent scouting, player data/analytics, and technology.” AT CHARLOTTE Bilodeau served as the pitching coach for the Niners across the 2025 season and managed a staff of five pitchers. Across the 2025 season, the Niners pitched 12 complete games and five shutouts. The pitching staff was led by Brooke Bowling and Aubrey Yarnall, who collectively had 76 appearances and both posted over 10 wins each. Director of Baseball/Softball Performance
Eric McKibban joined the 49ers as the Director of Baseball Performance in February 2021. McKibban previously served as the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Premier Pitching. He began working with Premier Pitching in the winter of 2018 as an intern while finishing his degree at UCF and was promoted to a full-time role after graduation in May of 2019. Working with both the baseball and softball programs at Charlotte, in 2023 the Niners were one of just 13 schools to have both their baseball and softball programs reach the Regional Finals in their respective sports and were the only non-Autonomy Five school to accomplish the feat. In four seasons working with Charlotte's baseball program, 11 players have been drafted and a total of 16 have joined a major league organization. McKibban is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and the National Sports Performance Association as a Certified Speed & Agility Coach (CSAC). A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, McKibban played baseball at the University of Evansville from 2012-2016. He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Evansville and went on to receive his master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Central Florida from 2017-2019.

The Jake Combs File Coaching Experience 2024-pr. Charlotte, Assistant coach 2022-24 College of Charleston, Assistant coach 2020-21 Clemson, Graduate assistant 2019 Indiana, Volunteer assistant Education Clemson '21, Master's in Athletic Leadership Indiana '18, Bachelor's in Kinesiology Conference Championships 2021 ACC Regular Season Jake Combs joined the Charlotte staff in July of 2024. He comes to Charlotte after three years working at the College of Charleston and will serve as the team's outfield coach and assist with hitting and baserunning, in addition to being the camp and clinic coordinator. “Jake brings Division I coaching and recruiting experience to our program,” said Charlotte head coach Courtney Breault. “He is skilled at identifying talent and building relationships with prospective athletes and coaches. He values the student-athlete experience and places an emphasis on player connection and development. He has an unparalleled enthusiasm for the game and will bring contagious energy to the field every day.” AT CHARLOTTE In the 2025 season, Combs served primarily as the outfield coach for the Niners. Across the 2025 season the Charlotte outfield posted a .974 fielding percentage, including Brelyn O'Hearn, who posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in left field on 60 chances. Assistant Athletic Trainer Softball
Shannon Lindley started as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Charlotte 49ers in the spring of 2024. Her primary responsibility is to provide medical coverage for the Softball program. She previously worked with Men’s and Women’s Track and Field. She also serves as a preceptor for UNC Charlotte’s Master of Science in Athletic Training Education Program. Prior to her arrival in Charlotte, she was the athletic trainer for the Charlotte Bootleggers (Professional Box Lacrosse League) and St. John’s College High School (D.C.). In 2015, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Florida. During her time in Gainesville, she worked with multiple teams, including Football, Women’s Lacrosse, Softball, and Gymnastics. She completed her Master’s of Health Administration from Georgetown University in 2018, focusing on sports medicine research with MedStar Hospital System. Shannon is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and is licensed in North Carolina. She holds certifications in Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Dry Needling. Additionally, she is also certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider. The New York native currently resides in Charlotte, NC, with her husband, Ryan, and dogs, Willie Nelson and Billie Jean.
