Head Coach
Following sustained success as both an assistant coach and head coach at the NCAA Division I level, 2022 Southern Conference Coach of the Year Benavia Jenkins was named Charlotte Volleyball's 13th head coach in program history on December 23rd, 2024. Jenkins took the 49ers to new heights in her first year in the Queen City. Charlotte went on to win 17 games, the most in a season since 2017 including eight conference wins, the most since 2021. The Niners had a 10-game winning streak including winning 14 of 15 matches, which was the best stretch in program history since 1981. The +12-win increase from last season was tied for fifth in the NCAA. Under Jenkins’ leadership, three Niners (Annika Thompson, Kristen Birmingham, and Jessica Ricks) were named to the American Conference First Team. The three selections were the most for a single team in the conference. Annika Thompson also received Libero of the Year honors. JENKINS' RESUME Jenkins came to Charlotte following two seasons at Michigan serving as an associate head coach. This season with the Maize and Blue, Michigan went 18-13 including eight wins in rugged Big Ten conference play. Michigan started the season 9-0 before dropping a five-set match to North Carolina, which was selected for the NCAA Tournament. Assistant Athletic Trainer - Volleyball
Regan Kemp, MS, LAT, ATC, OPE-C Regan Kemp started as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Charlotte 49ers in the spring of 2022. Her primary responsibility is to provide medical coverage for the Women’s Volleyball program. She also serves as a preceptor for UNC Charlotte’s Master of Science in Athletic Training Education Program. Prior to UNC Charlotte, she spent two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Webber International University, located in central Florida. During her time at WIU, she worked with the Men’s Basketball, Cheerleading, and the Mens and Women’s Indoor Volleyball programs. In 2018, Regan received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio University. During her time in Athens, she worked with Ohio's Football team, the club ice hockey team, the SHAPe clinic – the university’s performing arts sports medicine clinic, and local high schools. Following her graduation from OU, she became a graduate assistant with the University of Florida’s Department of Recreational Sports in which she provided on-field and in-clinic care with the university’s 50 sport club teams spanning from soccer, ultimate frisbee, rugby, and ice hockey. During her second year in Gainesville, she also taught cadaver dissection to first year graduate students and upper class undergraduate students. She graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Florida in May of 2020. Regan is a Certifie

Director of Sports Performance for Olympic Sports and Women's Basketball
Stacy Weaver returned to the Charlotte 49ers in Fall 2007 as a Sports Performance Coach, after a previous six-year stint with Charlotte athletics. She currently oversees all Olympic sports and works directly with women's basketball and softball. Weaver was a part of three conference championships and coached 10 Player of the Year award winners and 25 all-conference selections with women's soccer during her time with that program. She also serves on the 49ers’ Wellness Team that serves the Charlotte student-athletes with a variety of sport performance resources. Weaver was a four-year letterwinner for the Charlotte women's soccer program from 1995-98. She was a two-time team captain and twice earned All-Conference USA honors. She was a major part of two Conference USA Tournament championships (1995, 1998) and the school’s first NCAA Tournament appearance her senior year. Weaver also spent seven years in the W-League, where she won a national championship with the Charlotte Eagles. Weaver graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in health fitness and kinesiology and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Charlotte. She possesses CSCS, USAW and NASM-PES certifications. She resides in Charlotte with her two kids, Brayden (12) and Brylie (8).
