In July 2024, Charles Rodriguez was officially promoted to the title of Associate Head Coach for "On-Field Coaching, Player Development, and Scouting" after serving as an assistant coach for the prior two seasons. "Since his return to his alma mater, Charles has demonstrated his elite-level coaching capabilities and his eye for player development and opposition scouting. He has been a huge part of our success over the past two seasons." WELCOME HOME "We are delighted to welcome Charles back home! He is one of the brightest young coaches in the country, a deep thinker about soccer, and someone who possesses a very curious mind," said Kevin Langan when Rodriguez was announced in May 2022. Rodriguez is a Charlotte Men's Soccer alum, most known for captaining the 2011 College Cup Final team and becoming the first 49er in program history to earn United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors. Since joining the Niners staff, his responsibilities have included scouting, developing team tactics, planning the team's daily training, and coordinating all team travel. "Our players are going to benefit greatly from his coaching expertise. He captained our program to the college cup final as a player, has won two National Championships as a coach, and we look forward to him bringing his winning mindset to our student-athletes." Assistant Athletic Trainer - Men's Soccer
Patrick “Logan” Deese M.Ed., LAT, ATC Logan Deese began working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Charlotte 49ers in the Spring of 2022. His primary responsibility is to provide medical coverage for the Men’s Soccer program and oversee the intern Athletic Trainer with the Mens and Women’s Tennis programs. He also serves as a preceptor for UNC Charlotte’s Master of Science in Athletic Training Education (MSAT) program. Prior to coming to Charlotte, Logan served as an Assistant Fellow Athletic Trainer at The University of Memphis. While in Memphis, he supported and assisted the Head Football Athletic Trainer in all aspects of athletic healthcare for the TIger’s Football program. In 2018 he received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Wingate University. Upon graduation he became an Intern Athletic Trainer at Campbell University. His primary sporting assignments included men’s soccer and women’s swimming. After a year he transitioned into the graduate assistant program and earned his Master of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Exercise Science. As a Graduate Assistant, he worked with the Football and Co-ed Cheerleading programs. Logan also served as a preceptor for Campbell's Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and licensed in North Carolina. Additionally, he is also certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider. The R

In July 2024, Shane Carew was officially promoted to the title of Associate Head Coach for "Recruiting, Player Development, and Alumni/Booster Relations" after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the prior two seasons. "Shane has headed our recruiting efforts these past two seasons since he rejoined his Alma Mater," Head Coach Kevin Langan said. "In a short amount of time, he has made a huge impact by recruiting and integrating top local and International talent into our program, and this promotion is well deserved. He has reconnected with our Alumni base and helped to reignite their passion and support for the program." WELCOME HOME Carew is a Charlotte Men's Soccer alum, playing for the program from 2000-03, earning All-Conference accolades three times as a player.
