She became the school’s 11th head coach in women’s basketball history when appointed to the position on April 12, 2021. In five seasons, Nelp has compiled a 95-61 record for the second-most wins by a Golden Hurricane coach in program history. She has won the most games of any Tulsa coach in their first three seasons and is the only coach in program history to post winning records in every season at TU. She’s also the only coach to lead Tulsa to three postseasons and post 10 or more home wins in four consecutive seasons. While at TU, Nelp’s players have earned two WBCA All-America honors, two WBCA Region Finalist distinctions, one American Conference Player of the Year, one American Ambassador Award, one American Most Improved Player of the Year, one American Freshman of the Year, seven All-Conference awards, four All-Freshman and one All-Newcomer honor. Associate Head Coach
Doug Brotherton is currently in his second year as the Golden Hurricane's Associate Head coach and sixth overall year on the Tulsa coaching staff. He spent the 2021-22 season as the coordinator of player development, the following three seasons as an assistant coach and was elevated to Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. During his tenure, Tulsa has tallied 95 wins and qualified for three postseaons (2022 WNIT, 2024 WBIT and 2025 WNIT). Brotherton helped the 2025-26 Golden Hurricane women go down as the third-winningest group in team history with 19 wins to only 12 losses. Tulsa would finish 11-7 in American action for fourth place, earning a double-bye in the American Championship. He helped coach Hannah Riddick to first team all-conference honors, Mady Cartwright to second team all-conference status and Dora Toman to seven Freshman of the Week awards and an All-Newcomer selection. Tulsa led the American with 17 weekly individual regular season awards and went 12-3 at home in the Donald W. Reynolds Center, which ties for the second-winningest home record in program history. Tulsa reached the 17-win mark for a fourth consecutive season in 2024-25, finishing with a 17-15 overall mark. Brotherton helped the Hurricane earn a bid to the 2025 WNIT and saw Delanie Crawford bring home unanimous first team all-conference honors and the prestigious Ambassador Award, while Kennedi Alexander was distinguished as an all-freshman player.
