Craig Stewart enters his 14th season as the head coach of the Providence College men’s soccer team. Stewart is the fourth head coach in school history. In his 16 seasons as a head coach (13 at Providence, three at Franklin Pierce), Stewart has led his teams to a 178-90-39 record, including nine trips to the NCAA Tournament. In 2024, Stewart led the Friars to their 13th NCAA tournament Berth. Then-ranked No. 25, PC defeated the Bucknell Bison, 2-1, in their NCAA First Round match on Chapey Field, moving to a perfect 8-0 mark in NCAA Tournament games at home. The Friars were defeated, 2-0, in the Second Round at No.7 Clemson. Stewart also guided the Friars to their ninth BIG EAST Semifinal match and their seventh BIG EAST Championship Game during his tenure. It was the ninth winning season at Providence for Stewart, as the team went 13-6-3 overall and 7-2-2 in conference play. The Friars were regular season co-champions of the BIG EAST East Division. Five players earned All-BIG EAST recognition, including Bernardo Prego (First Team), Lukas Burns (Second Team), Rodrigo Vaza (Second Team), Bruno Rosa (Second Team), and Diego Batista (Third Team). Additionally, Prego, Rose and Vaza earned United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team honors. He also helped coach the Friars to their 15th BIG EAST Semifinal and sixth BIG EAST Championship Game appearance. DeMello assisted the team to a 12-5-4 overall record including a 5-2-3 mark in BIG EAST play.
