Contact Mike Rowe Phone: 517-432-3189 Email: Email Coach Rowe Mike Rowe enters his ninth season as head coach of the Michigan State gymnastics program in 2025-26 and 12th season overall on the Spartan coaching staff at his alma mater. In his eight seasons as head coach of the Spartans, Rowe has coached 15 All-Big Ten gymnasts for a total of 31 All-Big Ten selections, 40 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, 54 Academic All-Big Ten gymnasts and 40 WCGA Scholastic All-America Award winners. He holds an overall record of 135-93-1, eclipsing the 100-win mark in 2024. In 2024, he was named Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Coach of the Year for the third-straight year, and in 2022, he was named WCGA Region 4 Coach of the Year and WCGA National Coach of the Year. Rowe's staff was also named both Region 4 and National Coaching Staff of the Year by the WCGA in 2022, while his assistants were recognized with Region 4 Assistant of the Year honors again in 2023. Rowe and his staff also earned WCGA Regional Coach of the Year accolades in 2025. In 2022, he coached his first All-American in NCAA Championship qualifier Skyla Schulte, the first Spartan to advance to the Championships since 2016 and the first All-American since 1995. Lea Mitchell earned CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I At-Large Third team accolades, becoming just the second Spartan gymnast all-time to reach CoSIDA Academic All-American status in 2022. Assistant Coach
Devin Wright joined the Spartan gymnastics staff as an assistant coach in September 2022 and completed her fourth season with the program in 2025-26. Wright helped MSU to its fifth-straight NCAA Regional Final appearance in 2026 and the Spartans' fifth-consecutive top-two finish at the Big Ten Championships. Sage Kellerman, Nikki Smith, MaKayla Tucker and Olivia Zsarmani were named All-Big Ten, while Kellerman, Smith and Tucker earned WCGA Regular Season All-America honors and Smith captured three NCAA All-America nods at the NCAA Championships. MSU was represented on the NCAA Championships stage for the fifth-straight year with Kellerman, Smith and Gabi Ortiz qualifying as individuals. In 2025, MSU advanced to the NCAA Championships as a team for just the second time in program history and first since 1988. Six Spartans were named All-Big Ten and seven Spartans combined for a total of 11 All-America honors. As the primary vault coach, Wright led the Spartans to the top three event scores in MSU history and also coached the floor squad to the program's fifth-best event score of all-time. Olivia Zsarmani (vault) and Gabrielle Stephen (beam) won individual Big Ten titles. She was named WCGA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year for the second time in her career alongside associate head coach Nicole Jones. Strength & Conditioning Coach
Katy Parkinson was hired full time in February 2025 working with women's soccer, gymnastics and women's tennis. Parkinson previously served as a graduate assistant in athletic performance at MSU. Prior to her arrival at MSU, Parkinson spent the summer as an intern with strength and conditioning at the University of Kentucky where she worked with softball, gymnastics, swim and dive. Before joining the summer intern program at UK, Parkinson interned at Villanova University (September 2022-May 2023). While at Villanova she worked with field hockey, men's lacrosse, women's rowing, men's soccer, track and field. Parkinson earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from Towson University (2022) where she was a member of the field hockey team. She completed an internship with Towson strength and conditioning during her final semester working with seven varsity teams. Parkinson is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS).

Associate Head Coach
Contact Nicole Curler Jones: Phone: 517-432-8725 Email: Email Coach Curler Jones Nicole Curler Jones, a former Spartan standout, completed her ninth season as associate head coach and 16th season overall at MSU in 2026. She served as assistant coach from 2012-17 and as MSU’s volunteer assistant in 2011. In 2022, she coached freshman Skyla Schulte to an appearance in the NCAA Championships as an individual beam competitor. Schulte tied for seventh place overall and earned NCAA Second Team All-America honors, the third Spartan gymnast all-time to be named All-American and the first in program history on beam. In 2023, Delanie Harkness (bars) and Sage Kellerman (vault) won Big Ten titles, while Harkness (floor) and Gabrielle Stephen (beam) qualified as individuals for the NCAA Championships. MSU won back-to-back Big Ten regular season titles in 2023 and 2024 and captured the program's first Big Ten Championship title in 2024. During Jones’ time on the Spartan staff, MSU gymnasts have also earned 69 WCGA Scholastic All-America awards, 54 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors and 114 Academic All-Big Ten nods. Jones helped MSU to its fifth-straight NCAA Regional Final appearance in 2026 and the Spartans' fifth-consecutive top-two finish at the Big Ten Championships.
