Head Swimming & Diving Coach and Head Women's Tennis Coach
Jon Carlson is in his 36th season as the head coach of the Gustavus Adolphus College men's and women's swimming and diving teams and the women's tennis team in 2025-26. Under Carlson's direction, both the swimming and tennis programs have emerged as a conference power and national contender. In the pool, Jon's teams have won a combined 25 MIAC championships. The Gustie men, winners of the last six titles, recorded team finishes at the NCAA Championships for 16 consecutive years between 1996 and 2011. The team posted its highest finish in 2005, taking fifth. Carlson has coached 129 male swimmers who have earned 783 All-Conference honors and 28 who have earned 93 All-America honors in 11 individual events and 17 relays. He was also named MIAC Men's Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The women's swimming & diving program has claimed 12 MIAC championships, including last year's title at the 2025 meet. The Gustie women recorded team finishes at the NCAA Championships 18 times during Carlson's tenure, most recently taking 22nd in the 2023 season. The team's highest finish came in 2014, taking seventh. Carlson has coached 105 All-Conference female swimmers and 24 individuals who have earned 74 All-America honors. Carlson, who was a tennis athlete himself while at Gustavus, took over the women's tennis program in 1990, and led the team to an NCAA Championship in his first season. Assistant Swimming Coach & Vic Gustafson Pool Supervisor
Alex Lindstrom is in his 16th season as the lead assistant for the men's and women's swimming & diving program in the 2024-25 academic year. Lindstrom joined the Gustavus staff alongside head coach Jon Carlson in 2009. Since joining the staff, the Gusties have amassed 12 MIAC titles. The Gustie men have won the last five while the women have claimed seven since Lindstrom joined the staff, including the 2024 title last season. Lindstrom, a Scandia, Minn. native and 1999 graduate of Gustavus, came to Saint Peter in 2009 from Monticello, Minn. where he served as the head coach of the Monticello Swim Club from 1999 to 2008. While in Monticello, he also served as the assistant head coach for the Monticello High School girls' swimming & diving team from 2002 to 2007. Prior to coaching in Monticello, Lindstrom was the head coach for the Princeton, Minn. high school boys' swimming & diving team in 2000 and 2001. In addition to coaching at Gustavus, Lindstrom also serves as the head coach of the Mantas Swim Club in Mankato.

Assistant Swimming Coach/Social Media Manager & Content Creator
Ingrid Iverson is in her second year as the content specialist for the Gustavus swimming & diving programs in the 2024-25 academic year. Iverson joined the Gustavus staff in 2023 and has since made the swimming & diving social media one of the most engaging of all NCAA Division III swim & dive programs. Iverson reached over 500,000 new users in the first three months of working with the team. She manages and creates digital content for social media platforms, recruiting communications, and fundraising events. Iverson also collaborates with campus engagement teams and athletics to support the College's marketing initiatives, and has spent time training coaches and student workers in social media management. Iverson owns her own digital marketing business where she specializes in social media management, content creation, brand photography, and consultation. Iverson is a 2020 graduate of Gustavus, and was a four-year member of the swimming & diving team while at Gustavus. She is still active in the Gustavus community and coaches with the Gustavus swim camp in the summer.

Assistant Swimming Coach & Recruiting Coordinator
Luke Weyandt is in his 12th season as a coach with the Gustavus men's and women's swimming & diving teams and his third with the Gustavus women's tennis team. Last season, Weyandt helped the swimming & diving teams to a MIAC championship sweep, winning both conference titles for the first time since 2008. Meanwhile, the women's tennis team went 16-11, taking second in the conference with a MIAC record of 9-1. The team advanced to the MIAC playoff championship, where they fell to Carleton 1-5 in the title match. As an assistant coach, Weyandt's primary responsibilities include running strength and dry-land and serving as the recruiting coordinator for all three programs. He has also served as an instructor in the Health & Exercise Science Department, and helped with athletic events management on campus. Weyandt also coaches with the Mankato Mantas Swim Club with fellow swimming & diving assistant Alex Lindstrom. Prior to his time at Gustavus, Weyandt held a number of different coaching jobs. Following his graduation from Gustavus in 2007, he served as a head and assistant coach for different MSHSL Swim & Dive Programs. He has been the head high school swim coach for Shakopee (head), East Ridge (head), Saint Peter (assistant), and Chisago (head) as well as the assistant track & field coach (throws) for Roseville and Eden Prairie high schools.
