Jacob Byron

Biography

Jacob Byron serves as an assistant strength & conditioning coach for the Georgia Southern football program. He came to Statesboro after spending the previous three seasons at Buffalo working with the Bulls' football program. At UB, he ran developmental athlete groups in season, oversaw the return-to-play athletes and program, assisted in tracking and inputting data for training purposes and developed and implemented programs focused on improving power, speed and strength. Byron graduated from Buffalo in 2016 with a degree in media study and then earned a master's from Canisius College with a degree in health and human performance in 2021. He played along the offensive line and at tight end at Buffalo his final three seasons after starting his career at Buffalo State. Byron served as a corporal in the United States Marines Corps from 2009-2013, doing a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association member as well as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association member.
