Carl J. Wallin Assistant Throws Coach of Track and Field
Adam Lufkin joined the Big Green staff in October 2024. Lufkin enters his tenth season of coaching, specializing in the throws. Lufkin enters his second season with Dartmouth in 2025-26. Previously at Colorado State University-Pueblo, the throwers were responsible for 13 individual All-Americans in the shot put, including 5 National Runner-Up finishes, in 3 seasons. Before that, he received a degree in child development from the University of Maine, where he threw the discus and the shot put, claiming all-conference honors every year in the America East conference, as well as a first-place finish in the discus in 2018. This qualified him for the Division 1 East preliminary round. He then spent four years as a high school coach in Maine, accumulating multiple team and individual state New England titles. “We’re thrilled to have Coach Adam Lufkin joining the Big Green track & field coaching staff. He will bring tremendous energy and enthusiasm to our squad. He’s had quite a bit of success at CSU-Pueblo having coached 13 D2 All-Americans in three years. "We are excited that Ben True, one of Dartmouth's most accomplished student-athletes, will help guide our current students toward maximizing their growth and potential this fall," Harrity said. "As a Dartmouth alum, Ben knows what it takes for our student-athletes to pursue excellence both in the classroom and in competition. We are confident that his leadership will help inspire our student-athletes to achieve their full potential, and we look forward to supporting him and the positive impact he will make on our teams." True will enter his second season with the Big Green in 2025-26. A decorated student-athlete in his time at Dartmouth, True was an All-American in cross country, track and field and skiing (Nordic). He was a three-time Ivy League Heptagonal Champion in cross country while leading the Big Green to their last team title in 2005. True was also Dartmouth's top scorer on the 2007 NCAA Championship winning ski team. He was a two-time recipient of the Alfred E. Watson Trophy, which honors Dartmouth's Male Varsity Athlete of the Year. Prior to Darmouth, Cupido worked at Miami University as an assistant coach. Highlights of Cupido’s time in Oxford include men’s cross country team titles in 2018 and 2022 (and eight consecutive top three team finishes overall), as well as RedHawks sweeping the men’s and women’s individual titles at the 2022 MAC meet for the first time ever (Obsaa Feda and Carmen Riano). Miami also claimed the men’s outdoor track title in the spring of 2021. The RedHawk men finished third in the MAC Cross Country Championships last fall, while Miami’s women came in eighth, with the programs combining for four All-MAC honorees. Lyndsay Ostler
After serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2)/Academics from late 2019 into 2022, and the Associate Athletics Director for Enrollment Management from 2022 through 2025 Lyndsay Ostler was promoted to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development. Tom Sage was hired in October 2024 to join the men’s and women’s Big Green track and field program as an assistant coach. Prior to Dartmouth, Sage spent 10 years at Virginia Commonwealth University, playing an integral role in the growth and success of the men’s and women’s programs. Sage oversaw the hurdles, vertical jumps, and multis and assisted in eleven women’s Atlantic 10 team titles, 68 - A-10 medalists, 14 - VCU school records, 9 - NCAA East Preliminary Qualifiers, 4 - A10 conference records, and 1 - USATF U20 qualifier. Prior to his time at VCU - Sage served as an Assistant Coach at the University of New Orleans where he helped transition the Privateers back into the Division I ranks. The Privateers qualified three to the NCAA East Preliminary Round and one to NCAA National Championships. Sage worked as a volunteer at The University of Texas and the University of Illinois, under Tonja Buford-Bailey. Sage began his colligate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Prior to his coaching experience, Sage competed as a decathlete at Marquette University. He was a consistent Conference USA & Big East conference qualifier and point scorer. Sage was a multiple IC4A qualifier. A native of New Berlin, WI, Sage earned his Bachelor's from Marquette University.
