Head Coach
One of the most accomplished women’s college soccer head coaches in the country, Paula Wilkins, the winningest coach in UW program history, is in her 18th season as head coach of the Wisconsin women’s soccer program in 2024. With a pair of College Cup Semifinal appearances and 16 NCAA tournament berths, Wilkins has long been regarded as one of the game’s elite coaches. In 17 seasons at the helm in Madison, she has made great progress in rebuilding the culture and sustaining success with the women’s soccer program at Wisconsin. Wilkins ranks third in Big Ten history for career coaching wins (312). She also ranks second in Big Ten history with eight regular season titles, not including her three tournament titles. This past season, Wilkins claimed her 300th career win against LSU. The team advanced to the B1G Championship game and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Emma Jaskaniec claimed the program’s first Big Ten Medal of Honor since 2012. In 2022, Emma Jaskaniec was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year, while Natalie Viggiano, also an All-Big Ten Team member, became the seventh Badger in program history to be drafted professionally. UW advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in four seasons in 2021 and enjoyed an eight-game unbeaten run on its way to the program’s fifth Sweet 16 appearance under Wilkins. Director of Mental Health & Sport Psychology
Dr. David Lacocque was hired as Director of Mental Health & Sport Psychology in December 2021. Lacocque oversees the delivery of mental health and sport psychology services provided to student-athletes. In this position, Dr. Lacocque provides psychological services (evaluation, treatment and education) to student-athletes and counseling, consultation, and educational outreach services to student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, academic, student development and other athletics staff in a collaborative effort to enhance the personal, academic, and athletic success of the University of Wisconsin - Madison student-athletes. Since earning his degree in clinical psychology in 2001, Dr. Lacocque's professional activities have included 14 years as Senior Psychologist at UW-Madison's University Health Services, providing clinical supervision to pre-license clinicians, maintaining a private psychotherapy practice, serving as Peak Performance Specialist for Madison Futsal, and teaching a range of graduate and undergraduate courses in UW-Madison's School of Social Work, and Departments of Psychology and Counseling Psychology. Assistant Coach
Jon Gulrajani is in his eighth season with the Badgers going into 2023. Gulrajani's first season came in 2017, and since then he has aided the Badgers to four NCAA Tournament appearances. Most recently, he has been a coaching instructor for the Tosa Kickers, developing coaches within the club, creating training sessions and clinics. Before that, Gulrajani spent three seasons at Mount Mary University where he helped the team tie the school record for wins in a season and have the two most successful seasons in school history in 2016 and 2017. A four-year letterwinner for the Badgers from 2007–11, Dalton was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year in 2011 and earned First Team All-Big Ten and NSCAA All-Region honors. She was a two-time team MVP and still ranks among Wisconsin’s career leaders in saves per game and shutouts.
