A Vermont native, Bill Reichelt enters his 25th year with the University of Vermont ski program in 2025-26, and his 22nd as director of skiing and head alpine coach. He was named to the position in June of 2003, taking over for director of skiing Chip LaCasse, who retired after 34 years with the program. A former competitive skier and a graduate of the University of Colorado, Reichelt returned to his hometown of Stowe, Vermont, in 2001, and has been involved with UVM ski racing ever since. In 2012, Reichelt led Vermont to its sixth NCAA National Championship in program history in Bozeman, Montana. The Catamounts won by a record-breaking 832 points and outdistanced Utah by a record 161 points. Amy Glen (15k classic) and Kate Ryley (slalom) won individual national championships and 10 Catamounts earned 17 All-America citations at the NCAAs. That year, the Catamounts also won their second straight EISA title and dominated the EISA Circuit for the second straight year. UVM has won 36 EISA Championships in the program's history and boasted an active streak of six consecutive titles from 2011-16. In 2011, Reichelt guided the Catamounts to a dominating performance on the EISA Circuit. Vermont won five of six carnivals, including earning its 31st EISA Championship. The Vermont alpine squads picked up 17 individual wins and 44 podium appearances on the EISA Circuit. Reichelt was named the EISA Coach of the Year for his efforts in 2003.
