Men's Tennis Head Coach
Brett Masi enters into his seventh season as the head coach at USC, having compiled a 103-49 record in the past six seasons at Troy. Overall he boasts a 286-141 (.670) career record as he enters 2025-26 with the Trojans. In 2025, Masi led the Trojans to a NCAA Super Regional appearance, after pulling the upset on the No. 6-seeded San Diego in the NCAA Second Round. In USC's inaugural year in the Big Ten Conference, the Trojans finished tied for fourth in the conference with a conference record of 8-5 and an overall record of 16-11. Senior Peter Makk was the first player named to the All-Big Ten first team, as he was picked unanimously and earned ITA All-American status. In the 2023 season, Masi led the Trojans to their fourth-consecutive Pac-12 championship, finishing off the season as the No. 10 ranked squad in the country with an overall record of 21-8. The Trojans continued their streak of making the NCAA tournament as a team, as well as in the singles and doubles tournaments. The Trojans once again secured Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year, while three players made the Pac-12 First Team. In 2021, he collected his 200th career win as a head coach. The 2022 season also saw Masi named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, while the Trojans swept the Pac-12 Player and Doubles Team of the Year awards. Josh Shoemaker is in his fifth year in the USC Athletic Department and his fourth (2026) as the Director of Operations for USC lacrosse. Shoemaker "Shoe" first joined the Trojans’ staff in 2021 as an assistant director of equipment operations in charge of lacrosse, soccer, and both the men’s and women’s golf programs. Shoemaker moved into his position as lacrosse director of operations in the summer of 2022 and was a member of the staff when the Trojans won the 2023 Pac-12 Championship and secured a berth in the NCAA tournament. In his role, Shoemaker manages all aspects of the program’s operations including budget and Nike apparel allotment. He coordinates team travel, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation, and assists with alumni relations. In his career, Shoemaker has collected more than 13 years of collegiate and professional experience in equipment management, operations, and logistics. Before arriving in Los Angeles, Shoemaker supported all 22 sports as Director of Equipment Operations at East Stroudsburg University in 2021. Shoemaker also served as an equipment coordinator for the UFC in Las Vegas (2017-20). He got his start as a student football equipment manager (2014-15) and was later promoted to assistant football equipment manager (2015-17) at Incarnate Word. Shoemaker graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in sports management from Incarnate Word in 2015.

She also chairs the Athletic Department Health & Wellness Committee, and sits on the LGBTQA and Athlete Career Transition Committees. Whitney came to USC from San Jose State, where she served three years as the Director of Student Services and nearly two years as the Student Services Coordinator. While at SJSU, Whitney oversaw various aspects of Compliance including Athletic Financial Aid and the National Letter of Intent program. In addition she coordinated all Student-Athlete Affairs programming and served as the advisor for SJSU's Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
