Biography

Rangel joins the Osprey staff as an assistant coach after serving as the goalkeeper coach, as well as the director of operations, for Grand Canyon over the past three seasons from 2021-23. He helped design, craft and execute goalkeeping training sessions that support overall philosophy of developing professionals and winning. In his first season as an assistant coach, he developed transfer goalkeepers Luciano Natoli, who won ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 28, 2024, and Iu Pentinat, who notched a save in penalty shootouts in the ASUN Championship match. He helped the Ospreys clinch its first conference regular season and tournament titles since 2015, as well as the program's second trip to the NCAA Championship Tournament. During his time at Grand Canyon, he helped the team to a West Coast Conference regular season championship in 2021. The squad went on to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament that season against Denver, who at the time had current Osprey, Ethan Ash. Before Rangel's time as an Antelope, Rangel served as an assistant coach, goalkeeper coach and director of operations at Oregon State during the 2022 season. He was in charge of set-piece, video, camp, equipment and social media coordination, as well as travel. In 2022, the Beavers made it to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 8 national seed.
