John Garrison

Biography

John Garrison joined the Ole Miss football program as offensive line coach and running game coordinator prior to the 2022 Texas Bowl. Garrison's offensive line unit blocked for a Rebel squad in 2024 that shattered program records in total offense (6,845), yards per play (7.3), passing yards (4,561) and passing yards per game (350.8). Anchoring the line were tackle Diego Pounds, who started each of the last nine games at left tackle, senior Reece McIntyre, who started all 13 games at center after years as a reserve lineman, and fellow senior Jeremy James, who broke the all-time Ole Miss record in career starts (52) before missing most of the campaign due to injury. Garrison led an offensive line group in 2023 that paved the way for a high-flying Ole Miss offense that finished 13th nationally at 461.9 yards per game and 16th nationally at 35.1 points per game. The Rebel line was anchored by five seasoned vets of Victor Curne at left tackle, Quincy McGee at left guard, Caleb Warren at center, Jeremy James at right guard and Micah Pettus at right tackle before missing the remainder of the season due to injury sustained vs. Texas A&M. In the Peach Bowl, James tied the all-time Ole Miss career record in starts with 49 heading into his final season in 2024. Garrison, who spent the previous four seasons at NC State, has over 15 years experience coaching at the collegiate level.
