Head Coach
• Tracy Smith Named NCBWA National Coach of the Year (6/15/13) Tracy Smith enters his fourth year as head coach for the Wolverines. Smith holds a 93-79 in his three seasons at Michigan and finished 4th in the Big Ten Tournament in his first two seasons. He led U-M to sixth in the conference in the regular season in his first season and fourth in his second season and seventh in his third season. He has led 15 Wolverines to All-Big Ten teams, including Pitcher of the Year Connor O'Halloran in 2023. U-M tallied six honors in the 2024 season including three members on the first team. In 2025, Michigan had two memebers on the first team, one on the second team and two freshman selections. Smith also worked with Mitch Voit who collected multiple All-American honors and was selected as a first round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft by the New York Mets. Smith comes to Ann Arbor with 25 years of head coaching experience and 805 victories while producing 90 MLB Draft picks, including seven first-rounders and seven USA Baseball Collegiate National Team selections. One of just eight coaches all-time to bring three different Division I schools to the NCAA Tournament, Smith most recently led the Arizona State University baseball program between 2015-21 and advanced the Sun Devils to four NCAA Regional appearances in six seasons. Recruiting and Player Development Assistant
Adam Cornwell enters his first season at Michigan serving as the program's Recruiting and Player Development Assistant. Cornwell joins from the University of Indianapolis after four seasons with the Greyhounds, serving as the team's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. In his four seasons at UIndy, he helped lead the Greyhounds to three straight Midwest Regional titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025, two Midwest Super Regional titles in 2023 and 2024, and back-to-back trips to the NCAA D2 World Series in 2023 and 2024. Over the last 3 seasons at UIndy, the Greyhounds compiled a record of 114-66 (.633). In his first season coaching with the Greyhounds, he coached the GLVC Pitcher of the Year, Xavier Rivas. In 2023, his pitching staff improved in every statistical category, including a program-best strikeouts per nine-inning mark. Before coaching at UIndy, he served on the staff at the University of Dayton, where he helped the Flyers reach the Atlantic 10 championship game, secure a second-place finish, and achieve the second-most strikeouts in program history over his two seasons. He started his collegiate coaching career at Iona College, where he helped two pitchers earn All-MAAC accolades and set a program record for strikeouts in a season. Cornwell played for Indianapolis for three seasons before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh. Assistant Coach
Andrew Stone enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Wolverines. Stone joins from Michigan State after four seasons with the Spartans, after two years as a volunteer assistant and two as an assistant coach. He spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons coaching the MSU Infielders and hitters as well as serving as the team’s first base coach. Stone helped mentor Jack Frank to First Team All-Big Ten honors in 2024 and Ryan McKay to second team All-Big Ten honors in 2025. Before coaching at MSU, Stone spent two years at Kalamazoo College as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He helped the Hornets to their second-highest win total in program history and five school records in 2021, including runs and home runs. Kalamazoo also posted the second-best marks in school history in hits and batting average. He was a five-year player and three-year starter for Western Michigan, playing in 155 career games. Stone finished with a career average of .304 and a .402 on-base percentage. He helped the Broncos with the 2016 MAC Tournament title and an NCAA berth for the first time since 1989. Stone graduated as a three-time Academic All-MAC selection with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in sport management from Western Michigan in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Pitching Coach
Brock Huntzinger enters his fourth season with the Michigan program as the team's pitching coach. In his first year with the Wolverines, Huntzinger mentored the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in Connor O'Halloran and helped Mitch Voit to many accolades as a two-way player. During his second year with the program, Huntzinger helped three pitchers earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors and two pitchers earn All-Big Ten honors. In his third season, he helped Will Rogers to a All-Big Ten First team selection at relief pitcher along with multipe honors for Tate Carey including Freshman All-American. Huntzinger joined from Boise State where he served in the same role for two years. Before arriving in Boise, Huntzinger spent time as an undergraduate assistant coach at Indiana and Arizona State serving with Head Coach Tracy Smith, after 10 seasons in professional baseball. Huntzinger was drafted out of high school by the Boston Red Sox in the third round where he made it to Triple-A. He then spent time in the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland A's, and Chicago White Sox' organizations before retiring in 2016. While coaching at Arizona State, Huntzinger earned his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership. He and his wife, Cait, are parents to three children, daughters Hudson and Parker, and a son, Wells.

Hitting and Infield Development Assistant
Cole Caruso enters his first season as the team's hitting and infield development assistant after finishing his collegiate playing career in the 2025 season. Director of Analytics and Video Systems
Hunter Satterthwaite currently serves as the Director of Baseball Analytics and enters his second season with the team full time. Assistant Head Coach
Jake Valentine enters his third season with the program as the team's assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator. In his first season in Ann Arbor, he coached the team to a 32-28 record and a fourth place finish in the Big Ten Conference. Under his tutelage, four U-M hitters earned All-Big Ten postseason honors. Valentine helped Michigan to a 33-23 record in 2025 and led two hitters to All-Big Ten and All-Region selections. Valentine joins the program after one season at Washington State, where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Cougars. In the 2023 season, Valentine helped the Cougars to a 29-23 record -- their best since 2015 and its first ranking since 2010. Five Cougars received All-Pac-12 honors following the season. Prior to his time in Pullman, Valentine spent seven seasons at the University of Portland. Valentine started as an assistant coach before moving up to hitting coach and recruiting coordinator and spent the 2022 season as associate head coach. With the Pilots, he mentored 28 players to All-West Coast Conference honors, two freshman All-Americans and four MLB draft picks. Before his seven seasons in Portland, he spent time as an assistant coach at Santa Clara and two seasons at UC Riverside in the same position. Valentine started his coaching career at Stephen F.
