Daniel Famer returns to the collegiate coaching ranks at his alma mater for a second stint as an assistant coach leading into the 2025 season. A UT Martin graduate from Camden, Farmer previously served on UT Martin Hall of Famer Donley Canary's staff from 2011-13 as a graduate assistant and later a volunteer assistant. During his previous stint with the program, UT Martin won an outright Ohio Valley Conference championships in 2012 and earned a berth to the program's second NCAA Tournament. Working previously with outfielders and hitters, Farmer worked with OVC Player of the Year Leah Taylor, who led the Skyhawks with a .385 batting average, 61 runs scored, 10 triples, and 37 stolen bases. Taylor was also named to the Capital One Academic All-America fi rst team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2012 NFCA Division 1 All-Region team, as well as racking up OVC Regular Season First team honors. After the season ended, Taylor was named to the 2012 Easton All-American Team. She also earned College Sports Madness’ OVC Player of the week twice, and the adidas OVC Player of the Week two times. Also in 2012, Farmer worked with All-OVC second team honoree Kayla Wade who played in all of the Skyhawks games and sported a .335 batting average. Wade was also tabbed to the OVC All-Tournament team where she posted a .400 batting average during the tournament. Maddie Bowlds enters her first year as an assistant coach for UT Martin, after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons at her alma mater, Western Kentucky, as a graduate assistant and director of operations, respectively. Across her five seasons playing at Western Kentucky, Bowlds became the all-time leader in career putouts (1,380) as a starter at first base. In 211 games played, she worked with a career .283 batting average, picking up 172 hits with 72 RBIs and six home runs – four in her final year of eligibility. The Daviess County High School graduate operated with a .989 fielding percentage on defense, including a perfect error-free season in 2019. Bowlds was a 2019 Conference USA All-Freshman team member, earned Second Team All-Conference nods in WKU's 2021 Conference USA Tournament Championship season and Preseason All-Conference and C-USA All-Tournament Team accolades in her final season at Western Kentucky. As a coaching graduate assistant in 2023, Bowlds assisted the Hilltoppers to their third consecutive 30-win season, three All-Conference players, and a series sweep over preseason favorite, North Texas. She has also coached club with the Tennessee Fury, coached little league with the Louisville Sluggers, and assisted camps with WKU and Ashley Academy in Evansville, Indiana. The Utica, Kentucky native earned a bachelor's degree in criminology in 2021 from Western Kentucky and a master's degree in sport administration in 2022, also from Western Kentucky.
