Head Coach
Jolyta Fuller serves as the head coach for both the cross country and track and field programs. Fuller enters her fourth season at the helm of the cross country program after assuming the reigns in the summer of 2022, becoming the ninth head coach in program history. Additionally, she is in her seventh season as head coach of the Skyhawk track and field program after becoming the fifth head coach in the program’s Division I history back the fall of 2019. Fuller made history when she was elevated to head coach after spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the UT Martin track and field programs. Fuller, then 25, was the youngest female African American head coach in UT Martin and Ohio Valley Conference history while ranking amongst the nation’s youngest head coaches. During her time at UT Martin, Fuller has been critical in the development of a reintroduced program after over a decade hiatus. During her tenure, UT Martin has seen the roster consistently grow to over 50 members while recording numerous school records. The 2022 season showed the program's continued ascension as the Skyhawks posted their highest finishes in the OVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, respectively. During the outdoor season UT Martin's men finished fourth in the championship with 73 total points - it's best finish in the championship - while the women's team came in ninth with four points. Assistant Coach
Anthony Palacio enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for both the cross country and track & field programs after being elevated from a graduate assistant role in the summer of 2022. Before serving as an assistant coach, Palacio joined the Skyhawks as a graduate assistant coach prior to the 2021 cross country season and also served on the track and field staff in a similar role. Prior to joining the Skyhawks, he interned as an assistant coach at his alma mater Humboldt State for two years where the team had an individual qualify for the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. The Fresno, Calif. native competed collegiately at Humboldt State University from 2015-19 for the cross country and track & field squads. Palacio graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science and health promotion in 2019. He is currently pursing a master's degree in sports coaching and performance program.
