Victoria Rumph

Biography

Victoria Rumph, an international caliber catcher who was among the invitees for Softball Canada's Olympic tryouts in 2020 and 2021, took over as head coach at The College of Wooster on June 13, 2016. During her tenure, Rumph has compiled a 150-157 record. Rumph's arrival signaled rapid upswing in momentum for the program as the Fighting Scots qualified for the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since 2012 and finished with a 20-23 record in her first year. Two years later, the program enjoyed its best season with a program-record 26 wins (26-13) and a 12-game winning streak. For her efforts in 2019, Rumph was selected as the NCAC Coach of the Year. In 2021, Wooster broke the NCAC and school record for batting average (.357). In 2023, third baseman Julia Jennings earned the National Fastpitch Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove Award and broke the program's single-season batting average record at .450. Prior to Wooster, Rumph spent two years with Muskingum University's softball program as an assistant coach, helping guide the Fighting Muskies to the championship round of the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Tournament. As a player, Rumph was part of Softball Canada's Women's National Team for nearly a decade, competing at the Pan American Softball Championship, World Cup of Softball, and Japan Cup.
