Biography

A 2013 graduate of the University of Connecticut, Martino worked as an offensive assistant under Paul Pasqualoni and George Deleone as an undergrad. He joined the Stony Brook staff in the summer of 2013 as the offensive assistant before being promoted to tight ends coach prior to the 2016 season. During his tenure at Stony Brook, the Seawolf tight ends have experienced tremendous success as Martino has overseen the development of many impact players including the program's first NFL player Will Tye. Martino also developed Smithtown, N.Y., native Dennis Lestrange into a three-year starter and captain, as well as 2017 All-American and 2018 Pre Season first team All-American Cal Daniels. Under his coaching, the Seawolves' offense averaged 28.5 points per game in 2017 on their way to 10 wins and a FCS Playoff appearance, with back-to-back FCS Playoff appearances in 2017 and 2018.
