Erika Sage enters her fifth season on staff in 2025-26. This is her second season as an assistant coach and third as the Jackrabbits' director of player development. She oversees the team's video operations and assists with perimeter player development, coordinating team travel, recruiting and summer camps. Sage, a Fremont, South Dakota native, began her career at SDSU as a graduate assistant for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In Sage's first four seasons with the Jacks, SDSU went 115-25 (.821) overall - the winningest four-year stretch in program history - with a combined seven Summit League titles. The Jackrabbits have gone unbeaten against Summit League competition in three straight seasons, made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and won a pair of First Round games (2023, 2025). The Jackrabbits won the WNIT in 2021-22. In 2024-25, South Dakota State won its fifth straight regular season Summit League title and three-peated as the conference’s postseason champion. The Jackrabbits finished the year 30-4, reaching 30 wins for the second time in the Division I era and third time overall. SDSU knocked off three ranked teams - No. 21 Creighton, No. 21 Oregon and No. 17 Oklahoma State. The Jacks’ win over the seventh-seeded OSU Cowgirls came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 74-68, to put SDSU in the second round for the second time in three years. Brooklyn Meyer was deemed honorable mention All-America, was a finalist for the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year
