Biography

Brock Thompson enters his ninth season at the helm of the South Dakota State soccer program in 2025. It follows a nine-year stint as an assistant with the Jackrabbits. Thompson has a 108-29-22 record at South Dakota State and maintains a 174-79-32 career mark in 14 total seasons as a head coach. SDSU has gone 61-6-11 at home under Thompson’s guidance, which includes a streak of 51 consecutive regular season home matches without a loss the program accumulated from 2018-23. In the past seven years of Summit League play, the Jackrabbits boast a 54-7-12 record. South Dakota State has recorded at least 10 wins per season over the past 12 years, as well as in 16 of the past 17 seasons, and holds the longest active streak of double-digit win seasons among its conference foes. SDSU soccer has developed into the premier program in The Summit League and one of the most consistent programs in the country under Thompson's tutelage. The Jackrabbits over the last seven seasons have recorded the ninth fewest losses in Division I soccer (25), along with the 12th most wins (97) as well as the 12th best winning percentage (.775).
