Biography

Scott Vallone is in his third season as Rutgers’ tight ends coach in 2026. A former standout defensive lineman for the Scarlet Knights, the Central Islip, New York, native has been on the offensive staff since returning to Piscataway in 2020. Part of seven bowl trips with RU, Vallone coached a member of the 2025 Mackey Award watch list as the offense posted its best mark by total offense in Big Ten play this past season. RUTGERS • TE Kenny Fletcher Jr. earned a spot on 2025 Mackey Award watch list, which honors the top tight ends nationally. He posted nine games with multiple catches and signed an NFL contract. • For the season, Rutgers averaged 407.1 yards of total offense and 389.1 in Big Ten play, the team's best marks in a season since joining the league. The Scarlet Knights passed for 266.1 yards per game to place third in the Big Ten for the program's best placement, also the third best mark for a season in the school record book.
