On the same staff as RU rush ends coach Joe Woodley coordinating a top-10 defense for Drake in 2025, the Illinois native was a letterwinner at Iowa and owns a combined three appearances in the Big Ten Football Championship Game as a player and coach. He also brings experience from Indiana State and Central Michigan. DRAKE • Helping Drake to an outright Pioneer Football League (PFL) championship this past season, Cox was part of a team that won eight games and secured a bid to the FCS Playoffs. The Bulldog defense held PFL opponents to 11.0 points per game and 287.6 yards per game, ranking first and second in the league. Head Football Athletic Trainer

Anthony Misuraco is in his second season as head football athletic trainer for the Scarlet Knights in 2023. The New Jersey native rejoined the Rutgers sports medicine staff in January 2020 after previously working with the football team between 2011 and 2016. He has also provided care for the Scarlet Knights' men's and women's track/field/cross country teams and for baseball. In 2013 and 2014, Misuraco worked in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a year-long intern athletic trainer. While with the Bucs, Misuraco worked under the leadership of Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano and other current Scarlet Knight assistant coaches. In his time away from Rutgers, Misuraco was a sports medicine supervisor for ATI Physical Therapy and an assistant athletic trainer at George Washington University. Misuraco received his bachelor's degree in exercise science from West Chester University in 2010 and a master's degree in athletic training from Seton Hall University in 2012. He also holds a certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Originally from Sicklerville, New Jersey, Misuraco now resides in Westampton with his wife, Autumn, and their daughter, Aurora.

A native of Athens, Alabama, he previously spent two years on the sports medicine staff at UAB and one year as a football resident at Cincinnati. Patton earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 2020, a master's degree in exercise physiology from UAB in 2018 and a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from UAB in 2017. A former starting quarterback for the Scarlet Knights under Greg Schiano, Chas Dodd is in his third season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the football program. Dodd spent the previous two seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Miami. Before Miami, Dodd worked at The University of South Carolina for three seasons (2016-2018). He served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant during his time in Columbia. Dodd arrived at South Carolina after spending one year as an assistant football coach/strength and conditioning coach at Opelika High School in Alabama. A native of Lyman, South Carolina, Dodd played one year of professional football in the IFL (Italian Football League) in 2015 for the Lazio Marines. Dodd earned the league's player of the year award after he led the league with 295.8 passing yards per game. Dodd enjoyed a four-year career at Rutgers from 2010-2013, where he helped the Scarlet Knights to three consecutive bowl games. Dodd finished his career "On the Banks" with 24 touchdown passes and more than 4,000 yards passing. Damiere Shaw, who was promoted to associate offensive coordinator in 2026, is in his seventh season at Rutgers and fourth as running backs coach. A Broyles Award nominee, Shaw was instrumental in the development of RB Kyle Monangai, who produced the two highest rushing seasons for RU in the Big Ten era and was drafted by the Chicago Bears. Adding in RB Antwan Raymond’s Doak Walker Award semifinalist season, Rutgers is the only power conference program with a 1,200-yard rusher each of the past three years (2023-25). A native of Chester, Pennsylvania, Shaw previously coached RU wide receivers after joining the Scarlet Knights as the director of player development. A long-time fixture in New Jersey's football scene, Dan Spittal is in his fourth year with Rutgers football as a player personnel analyst. Spittal served as the Scarlet Knights' director of player personnel in 2019 and spent the previous two seasons within the program's player development office. Prior to his arrival "On the Banks" in 2016, Spittal served as the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at TCNJ in 2015. Spittal mentored five all-conference selections on the offensive side of the ball. Spittal arrived at TCNJ after a 13-year stint as the head coach at Eastern Camden County Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey, from 2000-13. Under the leadership of Spittal, the Vikings made playoffs eight times, which included four quarterfinal appearances in 2004, 20006, 2008, 2009; semifinal appearances in 2007 and 2012; finalist in 2013 and a state title in 2003. Among the players Spittal coached at Eastern was Logan Ryan, a standout defensive back at Rutgers and current starter for the Tennessee Titans as well as Eli Apple, current starter with the New Orleans Saints. Dave McCune, a Virginia native, rejoined the Rutgers football team in January 2020 as the head athletic trainer and moved to director of football athletic training for the 2022 season. He is employed by RWJBH Health Services and also serves as the assistant director of the athletic training department. He previously served at Rutgers as the Scarlet Knights' head football athletic trainer from 2001-2016, overseeing all aspects of athletic training from injury prevention to rehabilitation within the program. While at Rutgers, he also co-directed in the coordination of the entire athletic department's athletic training staff. McCune's extensive professional career spans over 33 years where he began as an assistant athletic trainer at Missouri State University. He first served as head athletic trainer at the University of Miami Sports Medicine Clinic from 1989 and until 1995 working with the orthopedic surgeons for the Heat, Marlins, Dolphins and Hurricanes. He then returned to his alma mater to serve as the men's basketball, soccer and baseball athletic trainer for James Madison University from 1995-97. Prior to his arrival "On the Banks," Josephs spent the previous season at Baylor as the program's director of player personnel. Jeff Jones, who returned in 2022, is in his second stint with Rutgers football and serves as director of player development. Jones previously worked at his alma mater, Southern Illinois, as the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations under Director of Athletics and former Scarlet Knights' offensive coordinator Jerry Kill. Jones also worked "On the Banks" in 2017 in the player development office. Previously, Jones spent five seasons on staff at Minnesota from 2012-16 – which included three as the Gophers' Director of Player Personnel. There, Jones oversaw the day-to-day operations for the football student-athletes and worked closely with the coaching, recruiting, academic and communication staffs. Jeremy Engel is in his eighth season with Rutgers football and second as the program's assistant director of video technology. In addition to administering Catapult Thunder, Engel is responsible for the organization of practice footage, game film, as well as all technological needs the Scarlet Knights may need. Engel also manages the team's student video staff consisting of 15-plus students. Engel previously served as an assistant video coordinator for Rutgers from 2018-19 and was a student videographer for the football program from 2014-18. Engel also worked with the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League as a game day operations and promotions intern. A native of Teaneck, New Jersey, Engel graduated from Rutgers University in 2018 with a degree in sport management.

Jim Turner is in his first season as Rutgers' offensive line coach in 2026. Turner, a native of Boston, worked as offensive line coach in the NFL for four seasons, developed multiple draft picks at the collegiate level and has over 30 years of experience overall. TEXAS A&M • Turner had two stints at Texas A&M (2008-11, 2016-18). His offensive line helped Trayveon Williams lead the SEC in rushing yards (1,760), rushing touchdowns (18) and total touchdowns (19) in 2018. The two previous seasons, the offensive line helped the team that gain more than 2,000 rushing yards while also passing for 3,000-plus yards. Jimmy Gill has worked with Rutgers football since 2013 and is in his fifth season as the primary communications contact for the program in 2025 after being promoted to associate athletic director. He first joined the athletic communications office in 2011 for one academic year before heading to Miami (Fla.) and returning to be part of Rutgers' transition to the Big Ten. Gill also served 11 seasons as the baseball contact and eight as the gymnastics contact for the Scarlet Knights. Gill was promoted from assistant director of athletic communications to associate director in June 2014 and was part of the 2014 staff that was honored by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) as a recipient of the Super 11 Award. Prior to coming back to RU, Gill worked at Miami (Fla.) as the volleyball and third football contact in the fall of 2012. The volleyball team successfully earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and Gill was named CoSIDA Division I Volleyball East Region Sports Information Director Honoree for his efforts along the way. After the football season, he worked as a media relations assistant for the Orange Bowl committee for its annual game and the BCS National Championship. Joe Gilfedder is in his first season as assistant strength and conditioning coach for Rutgers football in 2025. Prior to his arrival "On the Banks," Gilfedder spent the previous seven years at Fordham, including six as the senior associate athletic director for sports performance. At Fordham, Gilfedder was responsible for the administration of the strength training and conditioning programs for 22 intercollegiate teams as well as the oversight, maintenance and safety of the Walsh Training Center, where he supervised and evaluated the assistant strength & conditioning staff. Gilfedder arrived in the Bronx in March of 2018 after spending three years at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Gilfedder started at Dartmouth in the summer of 2015 as a strength and conditioning intern before being promoted to associate director of strength, speed and conditioning in the summer of 2016. He worked directly with coaching staffs, athletic trainers and the student-athletes of his assigned teams to deliver individualized, sport-specific, year-round training plans. Gilfedder arrived at Dartmouth via Springfield College where he completed his graduate studies in exercise science with a concentration in strength and conditioning in 2015. Ken Marsaglia joined Rutgers as an athletic trainer for the football team in 2024. Marsaglia previously served as the head football athletic trainer at Monmouth from 2019 to 2024. In his first season, they posted the best record in Monmouth football history at 11-3 record and made it to the second round of the FCS playoffs. While in Storrs, Shapley supervised the day-to-day operations of the Burton Family Football Complex equipment room, which included oversite of UConn's protective equipment and apparel. Shapley also worked directly with the Huskies' director of football operations to coordinate all equipment and apparel needs for home and away games. Prior to his tenure at UConn, Shapley worked as Assistant Equipment Manager with Towson Athletics from 2014-17. Shapley assisted with equipment needs for the Tigers' football, men's and women's lacrosse, field hockey and women's track and field programs. Shapley's first full-time stint "On the Banks" came from 2011-14 as an Assistant Equipment Manager with the football program. Shapley was responsible for the organization of equipment for staff and student-athletes for all games and practices. A Rutgers alumnus, Shapley graduated from the University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science, in Exercise Science and Sport Studies. Mike Tufo is in his second tenure with Rutgers football, serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Scarlet Knights in 2023. Tufo also worked at RU from 2005-2016 and possesses more than 15 years of strength coaching experience at the collegiate level. Prior to his return to Rutgers in 2020, Tufo spent three seasons as the head football strength and conditioning coach at Princeton from 2017-19. The Tigers went 26-4 during his three years with the program, which included an undefeated 10-0 mark in 2018. Tufo previously worked at Rutgers from 2005-16, as he worked his way up to become the associate director of strength and conditioning. Tufo worked with more than 25 Scarlet Knights who went on to sign NFL contracts and was on staff for nine bowl game appearances and six bowl victories. Tufo served two years as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at the University of Connecticut from 2003-05. Tufo worked with several Husky programs, including the 2004 men's and women's basketball national championships squads. Tufo earned a bachelor's degree in health and physical therapy from The College of New Jersey in 2002 and his master's in kinesiology from UConn in 2005. Since his arrival at Rutgers in 2004, Scott Walker has worked diligently to put Rutgers Athletics on the map academically as the director of football academic support and most recently as the executive director of academic services for student-athletes. In his role, Walker oversees the entire academic program for Rutgers student-athletes.
