Walker Thaning was elevated from interim to head coach of Tars swimming on March 1, 2024. He had taken control of the program in Fall of 2023, coaching the spring semester for Rollins. Previously, Walker was the assistant coach for the Tars in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Outside of collegiate swimming, Thaning also coached at the youth level for the Brentwood Seawolves from 2018-22. Thaning attended University of Kentucky and swam for the Wildcats from 2014-18. He was also a 2016 Olympic trial qualifier in the 100/200bk. Walker is also a member of the Liberty High School all of Fame, inducted in 2024.
