The 2024-25 season saw the Owls advancing to the AAC Championship game in back-to-back seasons, upsetting the overall top seed and regular season champion UTSA in the quarterfinals. Grant's positional group garnered several conference accolades, with Malia Fisher being named All-AAC First, Defensive and Tournament Team, while Aniah Alexis was named to the All-Freshman Team. Rice capped off a historic season in 2023-24, claiming Rice Athletic's first-ever AAC title in the debut season in the conference. The Owls won four games in four days to earn Rice's fourth-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament and first since 2019, where the Owls fell to then-defending national champions LSU in a hard-fought 70-60 defeat. Grant helped develop Owl star Malia Fisher, earning All-AAC Third Team honors. Fisher was later named AAC Tournament MVP, while Destiny Jackson and Sussy Ngulefac were also named to the All-Tournament Team. During the NCAA Tournament game against LSU, Fisher surpassed 1,000 career points, becoming the 26th athlete in program history to do so.
