Danny Yoshikawa

Biography

Danny Yoshikawa joined the Oregon State staff in the role of associate head coach in the spring of 2026. Yoshikawa joined the Beavers after six seasons at West Valley College, his second stint with the community college powerhouse located in the Bay Area. During that six-season span, the Vikings posted a record of 155-31, including an impressive mark of 138-20 over the last five campaigns. West Valley never finished with fewer than 26 wins over that period, including a perfect 33-0 mark in 2023-24, culminating in a California Community College Athletic Association championship. Yoshikawa is the fifth coach in CCAA history to take his team to an undefeated season and a state championship in the same campaign. Under his guidance, West Valley was the only team to reach the California State Championship Elite Eight in five-straight seasons. With Yoshikawa at the helm, the Vikings made the State Championship Game twice, and 27 players received scholarships to play at four-year NCAA institutions over his six seasons. Before returning to West Valley, Yoshikawa was an assistant coach at Saint Mary's. In his last season in Moraga, the Gaels knocked off nationally No. 1-ranked Gonzaga in the 2019 West Coast Conference tournament, claiming the WCC title and a berth in the NCAA tournament.
