Jason Rostan '03

Biography

Jason Rostan '03 is in his 23rd year at Hampden-Sydney College during 2025-26, and his 10th year as the Head Lacrosse Coach at his alma mater. He was named the new head coach at H-SC on June 3, 2016, becoming just the fourth head coach in the storied program's history. Jason replaced his father, Ray Rostan, who retired at the end of the 2016 season after an incredible 32-year career with the Tigers. Jason is currently 108-46 at the College, ranking second in wins, while his current winning percentage (.701) ranks first. He also serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the athletic department. Rostan was a four-year standout student-athlete at H-SC, followed by 13 years as an assistant coach, including eight years as the offensive and recruiting coordinator. As a junior in 2002, Rostan earned First-Team All-American honors and was the ODAC Player of the Year. During his senior season, he was named a Second-Team All-American and was selected to play in the North-South game. In the summer of 2005, Rostan was one of 120 players invited to try out for Team USA, one of only a handful of Division III players to be invited. In 2007, Rostan was the Los Angeles Riptide's fifth round pick in the Major League Lacrosse supplemental draft. Rostan is a 2003 graduate of Hampden-Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
