AJ BUNGERT

Biography

AJ Bungert is the head men's lacrosse coach at King's College, becoming just the fourth head coach since the program became a varsity sport in the 1998-99 academic year. A former men's lacrosse standout and assistant coach, Bungert is a 2015 graduate of King's College with a bachelor's degree in history and a 2019 graduate with a master's degree in curriculum and instruction for social studies. He was a four-year standout for the King's men's lacrosse team from 2011-15 and served as team captain as a senior in 2015. Bungert helped lead the Monarchs to four consecutive MAC Freedom Semifinals from 2012-15 and was named to the MAC Freedom All-Conference teams as a junior in 2014 and again as a senior in 2015. He earned MAC Academic Honor Roll Honors all four seasons and served as a Resident Assistant at King's from 2012-15. Prior to his head coaching role, Bungert served as an assistant coach, offensive coordinator, and director of recruiting for the men's lacrosse team from 2015-19. He has also held various coaching positions including head coach of boys' lacrosse at Woodside High School and the Headstrong Foundation Lacrosse Club, defensive coordinator at the Headstrong Foundation, and founded and directed the Lehigh Valley Youth Lacrosse program.
