Special Teams Coordinator
Veteran special teams coordinator Adam Scheier is in his first season at Florida State after being hired as FSU's special teams coordinator on Jan. 12, 2026. Scheier brings 24 years of special teams coordinator experience to Tallahassee. He has coached an all-conference kicker or punter in 20 of those seasons and has overseen the development of four top-10 special teams efficiency units in the last 13 years. His units have scored nine touchdowns in the last six years, the fourth-highest total among special teams coordinators nationally. Scheier was UNLV’s special teams coordinator in 2025, helping the Rebels reach the MWC Championship Game after a 10-win season. UNLV led the Mountain West and ranked eighth nationally in blocked punts and had the conference’s third-best punt return defense. The Rebels were one of four teams in the country to have multiple players return a punt for a touchdown. Before UNLV, Scheier was Temple’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach for three seasons. In 2024, kicker Maddux Trujillo became the third kicker in NCAA history to make two 60-yard field goals in a single season. He earned second-team All-AAC honors after becoming responsible for the only two 60-yard field goals in conference history. Quarterbacks Coach
Austin Tucker enters his seventh season at Florida State and first as quarterbacks coach in 2026. Tucker, who has worked extensively with quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs in his coaching career, is entering his 11th season as a Division I coach. Tucker has coaching experience at Auburn, Memphis, North Alabama and in the high school ranks, and he has worked with every skill group on offense. Last season, he helped direct and develop an offense that led the ACC in total offense, rushing offense, third-down offense and yards per completion. The Seminoles ranked in the top 15 nationally in all four categories, placing fourth with 15.21 yards per completion, ninth in total offense with an average of 472.1 yards per game, ninth with a third-down percentage of 50.9, and 13th in rushing offense after averaging 218.7 yards per game on the ground. In 2025, Tucker served as FSU's assistant wide receivers coach and helped guide a productive group led by first-team All-ACC selection and Biletnikoff Award semifinalist Duce Robinson. Robinson caught 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns, posting the ninth-highest single-season receiving yards total in program history. Cornerbacks Coach
Blue Adams was hired as Florida State's cornerbacks coach on December 20, 2025, and enters his first season with the Seminoles in 2026. Adams, who is from Miami and played at Miami Senior High School, brings 16 years of coaching experience following a six-year NFL playing career. He most recently was the defensive backs coach at Michigan State and also has experience with the Miami Dolphins and at South Florida, Oregon State, West Virginia, Purdue and Northern Iowa. He has overseen the development of four NFL Draft picks, two All-Americans and 24 all-conference selections. Adams spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons as the secondary coach at Michigan State. In his first season in East Lansing, Adams oversaw the development of All-Big Ten cornerback Charles Brantley. Brantley, from Sarasota, ranked second in the conference in interceptions per game and passes defended per game, and his 101 interception return yards were the conference's fourth-highest total. The 2025 secondary was led by Malik Spencer, a Georgia native who posted a team-high six pass breakups and totaled 52 tackles. Prior to his time at Michigan State, Adams was the secondary coach at Oregon State for five years. Assistant Wide Receivers Coach
Brady White was hired as Florida State’s assistant wide receivers coach in January 2026 after holding a similar role at Arizona State from 2024-25. White played three seasons at Arizona State from 2015-17 before transferring to Memphis and playing from 2018-20. Originally recruited to ASU by offensive coordinator Mike Norvell, White joined Norvell in Memphis for two seasons and left as the Tigers’ all-time career leader in quarterback wins, passing yards, completions, passing touchdowns and touchdowns responsible for. White started all 39 games played at Memphis, passing for 10,690 yards, 90 touchdowns and compiling a 29-10 record. In his first season as a regular starting quarterback in 2018, White guided Memphis to a school-record 7,324 total yards and a berth in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game. In 2019, White started all 14 games as Memphis set a school record with a 12-2 record, won the American and played in a New Year’s Six bowl for the first time in program history. As a senior in 2020, White earned multiple national player of the week honors while leading the Tigers to an 8-3 record in his starts and a win in the Birmingham Bowl. He was also the 2020 William V. Deputy Head Coach/Tight Ends Coach
Chris Thomsen was named Florida State’s deputy head coach and tight ends coach on December 19, 2019, and enters his seventh season in Tallahassee in 2026. Thomsen has coached 118 different all-conference players who have combined for 186 all-conference recognitions as well as 25 individual All-Americans who have earned 38 All-American certificates, including 13 first-team selections. Randy Pittman Jr. was an honorable mention All-ACC selection in 2025 after catching 23 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Pittman also added three rushing touchdowns and passed for one score to solidify himself as one of the nation's most versatile players. At Virginia, Pittman became the third player in FSU history to throw, catch and run for a touchdown in the same game. He is just the second tight end in the past 30 years to accomplish the feat. Florida State tight ends set an FSU record with a touchdown catch in five consecutive games. The unit also blocked for an offense that ran for 218.7 yards per game, the Seminoles' highest per-game average since 1995. FSU's offense ranked sixth nationally with 472.1 total yards per game. Ernie Sims, an All-American at FSU and the No. 9 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, is in his third season on staff and first as linebackers coach in 2026. Sims was a defensive analyst for the Seminoles in 2024 and served as assistant linebackers coach in 2025. During the 2025 season, he helped guide a group that featured five linebackers with at least 35 tackles on a defense that ranked second in the ACC in pass defense and in the top five in the conference in total defense and sacks per game. Sims returned to Tallahassee after spending the 2023 season as UCF's linebackers coach. There, he guided Jason Johnson to first-team All-Big 12 recognition after Johnson's total of 114 tackles ranked second in the Big 12 and 26th nationally. The Knights won six games in their first season in the Big 12 and played in the Gasparilla Bowl behind a defense that ranked in the top five in the conference in passing yards allowed, pass efficiency defense, scoring defense and sacks. Sims was on staff at South Florida from 2020-22, beginning as an analyst before being promoted to linebackers coach in 2021 and serving as the Bulls' defensive coordinator for the final three games of the 2022 season. Evan Cooper, an NFL and college coaching vetern, enters his second season as Florida State's safeties coach in 2026 after being hired on December 7, 2024. A Miami native who attended American Heritage, Cooper brings more than a decade of coaching experience and reunites with FSU defensive coordinator Tony White, who he was with at Nebraska in 2023, and defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, his college teammate and fellow coach with the Carolina Panthers and at Nebraska. In his first season at Florida State, the Seminoles ranked second in the ACC with 190.8 passing yards per game allowed, a top-30 mark nationally. FSU held seven opponents under 200 passing yards and ended the season with three consecutive games allowing less than 200 yards. Cooper's safeties tallied seven interceptions, with second-team All-ACC selection Earl Little Jr. catching four and Edwin Joseph grabbing three. Little led FSU with 76 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles and was one of two players in the ACC with at least 75 tackles and four interceptions on the season. Assistant Defensive Backs Coach
Greg Moss was promoted to assistant defensive backs coach prior to the 2025 season and is in his fifth season at Florida State in 2026. He first joined the FSU staff as a defensive analyst in February of 2022 and became senior analyst in 2023. He brought nine years of collegiate coaching experience and seven seasons as a high school coach. As assistant defensive backs coach in 2025, Moss' unit allowed just 190.8 passing yards per game, the second-best fewest in the ACC. Florida State recorded 12 interceptions, nine more than 2024 and one of the largest improvements year-over-year nationally. Second-team All-ACC safety Earl Little Jr. was one of two players in the conference with at least 75 tackles and four interceptions, and FSU's three players with at least three interceptions were the most for the Seminoles since 2013. Prior to Florida State, Moss was defensive backs coach at Charleston Southern for three seasons and added special teams coordinator duties for the 2021 campaign. In his first season at Charleston Southern, the Buccaneers grabbed 14 interceptions and had the No. 21 pass defense in FCS. Renowned offensive line coach Herb Hand was named Florida State's offensive line coach on December 10, 2024, and enters his second season at Florida State in 2026. In 2025, Hand reunited with Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, who he coached with at Tulsa from 2007-09. Hand has coached offensive lines that blocked for rushers that broke the program’s career rushing records at West Virginia, Tulsa and Vanderbilt and, most recently, helped RJ Harvey post the second-highest career rushing total in UCF history. Hand has produced a top-15 rushing offense and top-20 total offense in four consecutive seasons after the Seminoles ranked No. 6 nationally in total offense and 11th in rushing offense in 2025. FSU led the ACC with 472.1 yards per game and 218.7 rushing yards per game, the Noles best rushing output since 1995. Starting center Luke Petitbon earned first-team All-ACC honors, the first Seminole to earn that distinction since 2013. Jake Rothschiller was hired as Florida State’s assistant linebackers coach in January 2026 after a stint as the defensive coordinator at Minot State in North Dakota. Prior to his time with the Beavers, Rothschiller was the linebackers coach at New Mexico, earning recognition on the AFCA 35 Under 35 list. He coached All-Mountain West linebacker Cody Moon, recording 100 tackles in just nine games during the 2022 season. Rothschiller was a graduate assistant for four seasons at UNM before taking on the linebackers role. A standout player for the Lobos, Rothschiller was a safety in New Mexico’s secondary and was Defensive and Team MVP in 2017.

Kam Martin, who has coached a 1,000-yard rusher every year as a position coach, was named Florida State's running backs coach on Jan. 2, 2026. Martin joined Florida State after one season as the running backs coach at Tulsa, two years as the running backs coach at UCF and one year coaching running backs at Incarnate Word. In those four seasons, he has overseen the development of four 1,000-yard rushers and a combined 31 individual 100-yard rushing games. In 2025 at Tulsa, he developed Dominic Richardson into one of the American Athletic Conference’s premier running backs. Richardson hit the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career, finishing the year with 1,065 yards and an average of 5.02 yards per carry that ranked third in the conference among players with at least 200 rushing attempts. Richardson posted four 100-yard games, highlighted by a career-high 203 yards in a win at Army that made him only the fifth Golden Hurricane player to reach 200 yards in a game over the last 30 years. Manrey Saint-Amour returned to Tallahassee in January 2026 as the assistant offensive line coach, his second stint with head coach Mike Norvell and Florida State. Saint-Amour served as a graduate assistant in Norvell’s first season at Florida State in 2020 before departing for a similar role at Alabama in 2021. Saint-Amour was hired as Charleston Southern’s offensive line coach in 2022 before taking a job as Georgia’s assistant offensive line coach in 2023. Saint-Amour returned to the full-time coaching ranks in 2024 at Georgia State. Saint-Amour earned his first Division I role in 2019, leading Savannah State to a 7-3 record in 2019 as offensive line coach, the Tigers’ first winning record in 20 years. Saint-Amour started 36 games at center for Georgia Southern from 2011-14, helping the Eagles win three conference championships and twice reach the FCS semifinals. Desir's 6.5 sacks were the most for an FSU true freshman since 2016, when current New York Giant Brian Burns had 9.5. Desir also ended his season with at least 0.5 sacks in five consecutive games, the first Seminole to do that since ACC Defensive Player of the Year DeMarcus Walker in 2016. Desir's sacks and TFL totals led all ACC freshmen. Darryll Desir, Mandrell's twin brother, added 23 tackles, 1.0 sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.
