Head Coach
The 2025-26 season marks the second for Andy Walker as the head coach of the Eastern Michigan University men’s golf program with the Eagles looking to continue to build upon a strong foundation set throughout the 2024-25 campaign. Walker, who was hired in Ypsilanti on June 12, 2024, was a four-time national champion as a player and coach and brought with him an extensive head coaching resume that included stops at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Lynn University, and South Mountain Community College (SMCC). As a student-athlete, Walker helped Pepperdine University capture the 1997 NCAA National Championship before embarking on an 11-year pro playing career on several tours. During his first season with Eastern, the Eagles finished third in the MAC Championships, posting their first top three showing since the 2019 event when EMU tied for the title in a rain-shortened tournament. The team shot 872 to post its lowest 54-hole score in MAC history while lowering its score by 10 strokes from the previous year. Rory McDonald-O’Brien was the runner-up in the tournament (211) and had the best finish for an EMU player since the 2016 tournament (Kyle Rodes, T-2nd). Under Walker, Eastern embarked on a national schedule that saw the team play in tournaments seven states (Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Ohio) and the Bahamas. On the islands, Tim Chan shot a second-round 63 to break the school record by one stroke. With Walker at the helm, the Eagl

Eastern, who took 10 strokes off its conference score from the 2024 event, was led by Rory McDonald-O’Brien, who finished as the tournament’s runner-up for the best finish by an EMU golfer since 2016. Prior to his time at Eastern, Yip spent six years on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour, achieving six Top 10 finishes in 117 events. Additionally, Yip competed on the PGA Tour Canada, securing victory at the 2009 Jane Rogers Championship. In 2013 and 2014, he played on the Asian Tour and OneAsia Tour, where he won the 2014 PGM Port Dickson Championship. Yip also participated in three PGA Tour events: the 2013 U.S. Open, the 2018 Canadian Open (finishing T22), and the 2019 Canadian Open.
