Catherine Sandberg
Catherine Sandberg joined the MUSC Health Sports Medicine team to work with the Cougars' softball and sailing programs in the summer of 2025. She started her career at Michigan State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training. She went on to earn her master's degree in athletic training from Illinois State University and also served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with women's swim and dive. Sandberg then went on to complete the Fellowship Program at North Carolina State University. During her time with the Wolfpack, she provided care to their men's and women's swim and dive programs as well as the baseball program.

Pitching Coach
Mrowka brings in Charli Crawford as a pitching coach for the Cougars. Crawford is a graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. Under her coaching, Crawford led the Murray State pitching staff to 316 strikeouts with a 2.915 staff ERA. Her pitchers allowed 170 hits with just two home runs.

Mike Martino
Mike Martino is entering his third full year as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at The College of Charleston working with softball, men's golf, women's Golf, beach volleyball, sailing, and equestrian. Prior to College of Charleston, Martino made coaching stops at Charleston Southern, Adelphi University, Siena College, and Penn State University. Outside of CofC Athletics, Martino trained Court Tennis World Champion Camden Riviere for his 2025 championship title run. In 2018 he took part in a 2-year case study with Titleist Performance Institute on the effect of differing training modalities on golf performance and longevity. A former baseball player, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from SUNY Cortland and his master's in physical education from Brooklyn College.

Rob Sidwell comes to Charleston from Army where he served as an assistant coach from 2023 to 2025. Before arriving at Army, Sidwell spent a season as an assistant coach at Western Carolina Univeristy. Before Sidwell's softball experiences, he spent nearly two decades as a Florida Scouting Supervisor for MLB teams including the San Diego Padres, the New York Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. While working as a scouting supervisor, Sidwell was responsible for signing players like Andrew McCutchen, an outfielder for the Pirates and 2009's Rookie of the Year, as well as the 2013 National League MVP. Before his professional career, Sidwell coached baseball at UCF and FIU. Sidwell graduated from Flagler College in Augustine, Fla. and holds a master's degree in health science from Florida International University in Miami, Fla.
