Assistant Director of Baseball Operations (Graduate Manager)
Brennan Ramsey enters 2026 in his first season as Assistant Director of Operations (Graduate Manager). Ramsey will assist General Manager Sam Gjormand with equipment, travel and operations as well as overseeing student managers. Additionally, Ramsey will help with advanced scouting of opponents along with other baseball related duties. “Brennan is a great addition to our staff,” said head coach Chad Holbrook. “He has great experience at the highest level, and he will be an incredible asset to Sam and our coaching staff in the day-to-day operation of our baseball program. Our players will also benefit from his tireless work ethic and his team first attitude. We are thrilled to have him!” Ramsey joins the Charleston staff after spending three and a half seasons as a student manager and undergraduate assistant with sports turf at South Carolina. With the Gamecocks, Ramsey was responsible for equipment and laundry along with other day-to-day operations such as setting up and breaking down the field. “I am excited to be in Charleston and continue working in baseball,” said Ramsey. “I am extremely grateful to Coach Holbrook and Sam for giving me this opportunity and am ready to help the Cougars in any way I can!” During his time in Columbia, Ramsey also assisted the pitching coach as the bullpen liaison, helping the Gamecocks to a 4.19 ERA in 2023 and trip to the NCAA Super Regional and a 5.05 ERA in 2024 and NCAA Regional. Ken Morey
Ken Morey enters his second year as the Associate Director of Communications and Creative Content at the College of Charleston. Morey is responsible for the communication and creative efforts for the Cougars' baseball, volleyball, sailing and equestrian programs. In his first year at CofC, Morey helped promote 2025 MLB draft pick Jake Brink and CSC Academic All-American Caitlyn Callahan. Prior to his arrival in Charleston, Morey had a ten month stint at Syracuse University, where he worked with the 2023 national champion men's soccer team and the Orange's softball program. While with Syracuse, Morey aided in the promotion of Jeorgio Kocevski, who was named the program's first ACC Midfielder of the Year, in addition to being drafted in the first round of the 2024 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Morey also successfully publicized a second draft pick, three signees and a CSC Academic All-American. Morey spent two years as a graduate assistant at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., where he worked with baseball, softball, men's and women's soccer and swimming and diving. During his tenure, he also helped with overseeing all graphic design and social media efforts within the department. General Manager
Sam Gjormand was promoted to General Manager on Feb. 20, 2025 after spending the first three seasons as the team's Director of Baseball Operations and Executive Assistant to the Head Coach. Upon her arrival, Charleston made Gjormand a countable coach and had her on the road recruiting in the summer of 2022. Gjormand became the first female GM in Division I college baseball and the second individual to hold the title. In addition to continuing to oversee the program's budget and coordinating all travel accommodations, Gjormand will also oversee and coordinate all fundraising events and Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for the baseball program. Prior to joining the Cougars, Gjormand spent four seasons as a student manager with the baseball program at James Madison University. She was responsible for both on and off the field duties such as set up and break down, while assisting with video and overseeing all other student managers for the team. Gjormand spent the summer of 2021 as the Assistant to the GM and MLB Scout Liaison for the Wareham Gateman in the Cape Cod League. “Sam is a big-league hire for the College of Charleston,” Hall of Fame and former Mississippi State head baseball coach Ron Polk said. “She was invaluable to me in the Cape Cod League and her career is taking off fast. Sara Steckman
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Sara Steckman moved to Charleston in 2010 and earned her BS in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from the College of Charleston in 2018. She then earned her MS in Kinesiology with dual concentrations in Corrective Exercise & Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sports Conditioning while working as a graduate assistant at the College of Charleston, working primarily with softball, tennis, and sailing. She spent three seasons working with the baseball team at Charleston Southern University before returning back to the College of Charleston in 2023. Sara now works with the baseball and equestrian teams at her alma mater.

Tyler Wibbenmeyer
Wibbenmeyer has served as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance since summer 2021. He directly trains the baseball, men's soccer, and men's & women's tennis teams. He has previously worked with the track & field and cross country programs. In his time with the Cougar baseball program, he has helped the program to two conference regular season titles. Wibbenmeyer came to Charleston from Clemson, where he served as a Graduate Assistant from Fall 2019- Spring 2021 while working toward his master's degree. During that time, he was the head strength coach for the women's rowing team, and assisted with baseball, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball teams. Before his graduate position, Wibbenmeyer served as an intern with the strength and conditioning staff for a year. A St Louis, Missouri native, Tyler played football at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, where he received his undergraduate degree. Wibbenmeyer is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and is also first aid/AED certified.

Dorton has transformed the Cougars’ pitching staff into one of the best in the nation as the program’s pitching coach over the last five seasons. Under Dorton’s tutelage, the Cougars have ranked amongst the top 30 in WHIP in four of the last five seasons as well finishing in the top 20 in ERA in three of the last five. During his time with The College, Dorton has helped eight pitchers get drafted or signed professional contracts with Major League Baseball organizations. Evan Sisk (16th round 2018, St. Louis Cardinals), Griffin McLarty (8th round 2019, Baltimore Orioles), Nathan Ocker (29th round 2019, Cleveland Indians), William Privette (13th round 2023, Texas Rangers) and Jake Brink (11th round 2025, Cincinnati Reds) have been drafted. Jordan Carr (2021, Minnesota Twins), Caswell Smith (2022, Arizona Diamondbacks) and Daniel Brooks (2025, Atlanta Braves) have all signed professional contracts. Two-way player Cole Mathis also became the program's highest draft pick, going 54th overall (2nd round) to the Chicago Cubs in the 2024 MLB Draft.
