Head Coach
Blake Boehm will enter his 16th season as the head coach of the Calvin University women's lacrosse team. In the 13 seasons as a varsity program under his watch, Calvin has an 115-87 record, with nine winning seasons. In 10 MIAA seasons under Boehm, the Knights have tallied a 67-21 record. Boehm picked up his 100th victory at the varsity level on March 8, 2024, in a 14-12 win over Cal Lutheran University. He has led Calvin to the MIAA Tournament nine times and to the NCAA III Tournament three times. Boehm began his coaching career in the fall of 2007 as the head coach of the women's club lacrosse team at Calvin College. In his first year, he led the Knights to an undefeated (11-0) season and their first ever Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) conference title. In his five seasons with the club team, Boehm posted a career record of 39-21. In 2007, Boehm co-founded the Woodland Sports Lacrosse Program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Boehm graduated from Calvin University in 2006 where he was a face-off midfielder and a two-year captain on the men's club team. During his four seasons, the Knights captured four Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association (CCLA) championships and made two Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Tournament appearances. Boehm holds a Bachelor's of Arts in exercise science & physical education from Calvin University. Jeff Yu started his tenure as Calvin women's lacrosse goalie coach in 2021. During his tenure, Calvin goalies have been awarded All-MIAA and Defensive Player of the Week honors. Prior to his time in Michigan, Yu was the goalie coach at Regis University (Colo.) (DII) from 2014-17. During his time at Regis, Yu played a pivotal role in developing goaltenders that consistently ranked in the NCAA top 10 in save percentage and goals against average. He also assisted in leading Regis to the program's first NCAA postseason appearance in 2017. Yu also serves as goalie coach at East Grand Rapids High School, where he has helped the program to state championships in 2019, 2021 and 2022. His goalies have earned All-State honors in each of those three seasons. He graduated from Indiana University in 2004, where he was goalkeeper for the IU men's club team and later an assistant coach for the women's team. Yu is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with Corewell Health and lives in East Grand Rapids with his wife and daughter.
