Associate Head Coach (Jumps, Combined Events)
Matthew McGee enters his second season as an assistant coach for 2025-26, overseeing the program's jumps and combined events. He came to the Central Valley with nearly 20 years of coaching experience. In his first season at Fresno State, he coached up two Mountain West Outdoor Champions in Ella Spaulding (heptathlon) and Liz Tarczy (high jump). Tarczy's jump of 1.83m/6-0 ties the second-highest jump in program history, and is the highest since 1990. Spaulding became the youngest Bulldog to win the MW heptathlon title in program history. McGee had a third MW Champion in Tarczy, who won the indoor title. Janae Heffernan and Tarczy advanced to the NCAA First Round, and Spaulding was an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Finals in McGee's first year. On the men’s side, Garrett Ostrinski took third in the decathlon at the Mountain West Championships, becoming the first Bulldog to medal in the event since joining the MW and just the second Bulldog on the men's team to medal at the MW Outdoor Championship since 2017. Prior to joining the staff at Fresno State, McGee spent the past three years at University of San Francisco where he oversaw the program’s sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and combined events. His groups broke nine University records, had three NCAA qualifiers, the first in the program's history outside of the distance events. Gabriella Mace, placed 18th at the 2022 West regional in the 400h running 58.41. Olivia Alexandre qualified in the 800 with a best of 2:04.16, and in
