Assistant Coach
Dante Cecil joined the Brown gymnastics program as an assistant coach in August 2025. Cecil joined the Bears having spent the previous three seasons at Springfield College. At Brown, Cecil will assist with coaching vault and bars. Cecil served as a graduate assistant coach for the men's program at Springfield College from 2023-2025 and was named 2024 ECAC Assistant Coach of the Year, helping Springfield make the team's third-straight NCAA Division I Nationals appearance, the first time an NCAA Division III school had accomplished the feat. Cecil also has prior experience as the women's gymnastics coach for Pioneer Gymnastics and Woodward PA. He graduated from Springfield College with a B.S. in Marketing & Business Management in 2023 and with a M.Ed in Athletic Leadership in 2025. Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator
Sophia Hyderally is in her third season in 2026 as Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator with Brown gymnastics after joining the program ahead of the 2024 season. A former NCAA Regional qualifier on beam, Hyderally previously served as an assistant coach at Temple and Nebraska in addition to coaching at the club level. At Brown, she coaches vault and beam while also handling choreography for beam and floor. Through her first two seasons at Brown, the team has posted each of the top six scores in program history on beam, while her athletes have earned six All-GEC honors, two All-GEC Championship honors, one individual Ivy championship and three All-Ivy accolades. Individual gymnasts have also posted four of the top five scores in program history during Hyderally’s tenure. During the 2025 season, Brown finished the year ranked No. 2 in the GEC on beam, with two individuals ranked in the top three in the conference, and all six members of the beam lineup ranking in the top 25 in the GEC. She coached Emily Ford to the Ivy League individual title on beam, and helped choreograph senior Maya Davis to an NCAA Regional berth on floor, with Davis also earning GEC Specialist of the Year honors, as well as both the GEC and Ivy titles on floor. In her first season at Brown in 2024, Hyderally coached two student-athletes to USAG All-America accolades, including one first team honoree. Tim Geer
Tim Geer joined Brown University as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in August 2021. Prior to Brown, Geer worked in the athletic communications offices at the University of New Haven, Sacred Heart, Lehigh, and Southern Connecticut State. While at Brown, Geer was one of seven nominees nationwide for the 2022 College Gym News Sports Information Director of the Year Award. He has also represented Brown at the 2021 NCAA Volleyball Regional in Seattle and coordinated all media relations efforts for Olivia Pichardo, the first female NCAA Division I baseball player. Over three years at Lehigh, Geer was the primary contact for women's basketball, track and field, and swimming and diving, while providing extensive support for football, softball, and men's basketball among other programs. He was the primary contact for Lehigh Softball at the 2017 NCAA Los Angeles Regional at UCLA and oversaw all communications efforts for the annual Paul Short Run, one of the largest intercollegiate cross country meets in the nation. He wrote numerous student-athlete feature stories for LehighSports.com, in addition to covering four swimmers that qualified for Olympic Trials, and three track and field athletes that earned All-America honors. Additionally, he provided extensive graphic design support, and was responsible for creating the department's hall of fame and facilities sections on LehighSports.com.
