Taylor Virtue was elevated to head coach in April 2023 after two seasons as the assistant coach. Virtue joined the Brown coaching staff in May 2021 as an assistant coach and has also served as the program's recruiting coordinator, having played a large part in the recruiting classes for 2022 and 2023. Virtue has also spent the the 2022 and 2023 seasons coaching the passing and defense for the Bears. Virtue's second season at the helm of the Bears saw Brown finish 11-14 overall and 8-6 in Ivy League play. Virtue led Brown to its second-straight Ivy League Tournament under her guidance and third-straight overall with Brown falling to Princeton in the semifinals. For the second-straight season, Jessie Golden was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Ivy. Mariia Sidorova was also named First Team All-Ivy, with Beau Vanderlaan and Julia Kakkis named Honorable Mention All-Ivy. In Virtue's first season leading the Bears, Brown compiled a 19-7 overall record and a 9-5 mark in Ivy League play. Virtue guided the Bears to a win over Princeton in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament before falling to Yale in the finals. Under Virtue, Jessie Golden was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Ivy. Cierra Jenkins and Beau Vanderlaan were also named First Team All-Ivy and Kate Sheire earned Second Team All-Ivy honors. Nicole Peterson-Shields

Nicole Peterson was hired as an assistant coach in February 2025. Peterson most recently served as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon University during the 2023 season, where she helped guide the program to a 23–8 overall record and a 13–3 mark in WAC play. The team captured the WAC Tournament title and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. She began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Arizona State University, where she spent two seasons following a standout four-year playing career with the Sun Devils. As a setter and outside hitter, Peterson led the team in assists in two seasons and ranked second in the other two, while also earning Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention honors in 2018. Prior to returning to the collegiate ranks, Peterson spent four years with Revolution Volleyball Academy in Phoenix. During her time with the club, she advanced from assistant coach to lead clinician and ultimately head coach. She led her teams to gold medals in 2021 and 2022, as well as a silver medal finish in 2024. Before her collegiate career, Peterson was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and tennis at Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon. She earned numerous accolades, including 2015 MaxPreps National Player of the Year, High School All-American, and Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year.
