Mary Holt-Kelsch
HC

Mary Holt-Kelsch was announced as the 11th head coach in program history in July of 2024. In her first season leading the program, Holt-Kelsch delivered one of the best seasons in Brown program history. The Bears tied the program record with 33 wins and won their first Ivy League Tournament to earn the team's second-ever NCAA Tournament berth. Holt-Kelch unlocked Brown's offense as the Bears set program records for hits (348), runs scored (243), RBI (206) and tied the program record for home runs (32). Brown's pitching staff also set the program record with 249 total strikeouts. Under the guidance of Holt-Kelsch, Laurel Moody was unanimously named Ivy League Player of the Year and First Team All-Ivy. Moody was also NFCA All-Region and CSC Third-Team Academic All-American while rewriting Brown's record book. Moody set the Brown single-season record for hits, home runs, RBI and walks. Holt-Kelsch also guided pitcher Alexis Guevara to a First Team All-Ivy nod, Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player and NFCA All-Region honor. Guevara set the single-season strikeout record and became the second Bear in program history to win 20 games. Holt-Kelsch joins the program after spending the last three seasons as the head coach at Rhode Island College. The Anchorwomen posted stronger records in each of Holt-Kelsch’s three seasons, capped off by a 31-win campaign last year that ended with RIC’s first appearance in the Little East Conference Championship in nine seasons. Associate Head Coach

Wally King was named an assistant coach in 2024. King joins Brown having most recently served as the assistant coach at Madonna University. King spent two seasons in charge of hitting and infield at Madonna and helped lead the school to a 54-6 record in 2023-24 and a spot in the NAIA World Series. Under King's guidance, Madonna was nationally ranked in the top-10 in 10 different offensive categories, finishing second in both triples and runs scored and third in RBI and walks. Prior to Madonna, King served as the head coach at Furman University. In 2018, King led the Paladins to a 41-15 record which was the second highest total in school history and the most by a Furman team since 1988. King, who spent the 2017 season as an assistant coach at the University of South Florida helped lead the Bulls to a 32-24 overall record and 9-8 mark in the American Athletic Conference after serving as head coach at Division II Ferris State (Mich.) the previous year. During his tenure with Ferris State, King guided the Bulldogs to a 36-18 mark and the school's first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tournament appearance in three years. Ferris State's 36 wins in King's lone season in charge represented a 20-win improvement from 2015. Only four programs in the nation boasted a 20+ win increase, putting the program in elite company. King was the associate head softball coach at Syracuse University from 2008-13, helping to guide the Orange to four straight 30-win seasons and
