Biography

Grant Cartwright is entering his second year as the director of track & field and cross country and his seventh season leading the throws program, where he has coached the group to unprecedented success. In 2024-25, Cartwright was named Patriot League indoor women's coach of the year after he oversaw a women's program that won its first Patriot League indoor championship since 2016 and finished second at the Patriot League cross country championships and the outdoor championships. During that season, Vera Sjöberg qualified for the NCAA Championships in the cross country, indoor and outdoor seasons and earned three All-America nods. On the men's side, the Terriers finished third at each of the cross country, indoor and outdoor conference championships. Cartwright has led Ellie Roan, Kiana Lino and Owen Faulha to individual titles at Patriot League Championships and has coached five others to podium finishes.
